Rather.  How many menu choices will there be for texture sets now?

Well, you can't have enough customization ;) For alternative RHW sets, we now have 7:

- Standard

- Duurzaam Veilig (the Netherlands)

- Schellingen

- German Autobahn

- UK

- Norway

- Irish/South African

Best,

Maarten

That really is making life difficult for the guys maintaining the installer.  Happy testing.

Could I suggest some new ramps? I specifically noticed no rhw 6s d2 inside. would make things a lot smaller. Just more inside entrances in general, they seem to be lacking

Are those smooth curves for the RHW-6S? Those look nice.

Will there also be a FARHW-6S to diagonal transition?

The FARHW/Diagonal 6S transition is being made.

Inside ramps pose a bit of a dilemma from an implementation standpoint, particularly as we're gradually transitioning away from the traditional static ramp pieces, and instead going toward FLEXRamps.  FLEXRamps are pretty basic right now, but by NAM 33 or 34, it'll make more sense.

Sorry to ask this stupid question but as I installed NAM 31.1 today and wanted t drag a RHW-10 I didn't see a yellow line on the left as an indicator for the driving direction. I grabed through the manual but could't find anything. Have I missed something at the installation.

Thanks in advance!

If you installed Euro textures of any sort, you won't have yellow lines.  You'll have to discern direction based on the width of the shoulders (the inner shoulders where the yellow lines would be will be narrower).

Not a major issue but I was wondering if there was a fix for this. I recently saved a city i hadn't played in a while with the RHW Regional Transport plugin installed. I opened a data view before saving as I have done for all other cities but this one has several roads behind some mountains, which show up in the region view as black, as if I hadn't opened up a data view before saving. I'm guessing for some reason it's drawing the black workaround layer over the mountains and then when it draws the normal layer, it doesn't draw them over the mountains as it should, leaving only the black visible.

I see. Thanks Tarkus! :)

Is there any way to delete the Euro textures manually or do I have to reinstall NAM?

Thanks in advance!

On a related note there's no way to distinguish direction on ERHW when using Euro textures a nightmare(in fact, physically impossible without Drawpaths and a bit of trial & error). I was wondering if the inside shoulder could be narrowed or remade?

EDIT: On a related note it seems the FLEXTransitions can have onslope variations, which would explain some of the instability issues the 2-level one's been facing; that problem certainly looks like Onslope code interfering...

Neighbour%20Connection.png

Recently, I've started to build a city using RHW and the GHSR in between. I just wonder whether I can make connection with neighbor cities with the above design. I've used the FLUP puzzle piece and the RHW neighbor connection puzzle pieces.

I think you can. I think this piece will work the same as the underground loop for the RHW. Besides, this will probably benefit from a bug we call the "Deck Jumping Effect". If this works as I think it would, it's a clever find ;)

I don't know, but maybe you could try cutting them in half and adding LHD and Irish (and also LHD Irish) models, that'd be about 12 or so, not counting the RHW4-6 transition.

So I'm trying to build a T-Intersection, but I can't seem to build an L3 MIS ramp over one of the MIS I've built across one stretch of the highway.

I've got the pieces in place, but I can't build on to the L3 for some reason.

Remember that you can only have two networks on top of each other on any given tile.

That might be it.  I'll try moving the second MIS over another space to see if that fixes the issue.

After trying that it, the game still says that the tiles are reserved after placing the L2 to L3 MIS piece.

So the problem is that the pieces I have don't really behave as pieces I can build off of.  For instance, I plop the L0 to L3 transition piece, but then I can't drag anything from or to the piece in question.

That's because the L0-to-L3 transitions are pre-NAM 31 pieces, and don't operate on a FLEX basis.  Ditto with the dedicated L2-to-L3 pieces.  You'll need to stick starters on the ends yourself, or in the case of L2-to-L3, use the 1-level FLEX transitions and hook the L2 into the bottom end, overriding it into an L2-to-L3.

Thanks!  I ended up making a rather ornate T-Intersection instead where they didn't go up over each other but around.  I reallly like the look of it and this junction is really shaping up to be something now that I've started learning how to properly use the transition pieces and I love the look of some of the other ramps.

This little junction town is going to be a pretty big city isn't it?

I've just been looking at the RHW Users Guide (pdf) and find it quite enlightening.

However, as a users guide, I'd suggest a slight modification of the contents.  The explanation of the origin of the network and all the history should be moved into an end paper, perhaps as an Appendix.  It should be replaced with a brief note and a link to the end paper.

As a user guide, it really needs to quickly get to the meat of the subject with the definitions and some more clarifications.  It would be useful to explain, for example, the meaning of the suffixes -C, and -S.  While they may be obvious to some, they will not be to others.  Write as if you were talking to an 8-year old.  Remember we have gamers of all ages, so while avoiding talking down, try to be more explicit.

Since there will be a substantial gap before the next release, I hope someone with in-depth knowledge will tackle this and other similar documentation.  These documents need to sell themselves and not be just a simple exposition.  Putting the 'of interest' stuff into appendices would help a lot.

I would like to build the Section 14.1: Standard Directional-T Interchange as described on the RealHighway Interchange Guide, but i cant even find the first splitter piece: RHW-8 dual RHW-4 splitter

I have NAM 31.2 installed with the RHW mod selected in the custom install.

I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it but I still cant find that piece. Cant find much of anything with the word splitter in it either.

If that piece doesnt go by another name now, what should I use instead?

It's been renamed to RHW-8S Type D2 Ramp, or something along those lines. The term "splitter" has been more or less replaced with a unified naming system.
