I tried to use both buttons and then click on the " day " but still gave me the " couldn't find camera " cameraZ5 " " error... Maybe the BATs I made with 2010 are just not compatible with 2012 ?

Sorry I didn't see your first post.

You can have lights during the day time, but you have to make the lights really strong because the sun is so strong.  If you imagine, for example, turning a flashlight on during the day in real life, you wouldn't be able to see the flashlight because the sun makes everything so bright already.

I think this issue is caused by BAT4Max so im going to post the picture here too. Anyone have any idea as to what would be causing this?

Im pretty sure its not the Gamma Setting, becasue i just accepted the deafult settings for that and pressed OK.

Im using 3dsmax 2014.

With older versions you can specify bitmap input and output gamma (check the first post of this thread to see the UI with what is now missing).  With 2014 max automatically gives certain image filetypes certain gamma, so your exported images have a gamma that is not what it should be for BATing purposes.

I can't confirm with absolute certitude as I use 2010, but I'm pretty sure 2013 is supported. Aaron and Girafe use this version if I remember correctly.

Using the fix somewhat fixed it. The gamma is closer to being correct when the input gamma is set to 2.1 and the output gamma is set to 1:

I would convert to a previous version, but the people on my lot use a 3dsmax 2014 exclusive plugin, so I cant unless i find a way to convert them. I will try conveting them all to editable meshes and seeing if that works.

Edit: Even converting all the objects that use the new populate plugin and removing parts of that plugin i dont need doesnt work. I dont see a way of getting rid of my file needing 2014.

@IL.

Installing BAT4Max 5
Special note on UAC (User Account Control) in Windows 7 and Windows Vista. UAC in Windows7 blocks any write operations into “Program Files” folder. As a result neither setting not operation of BAT4Max is possible while UAC is turned on. So if you are running these versions of Windows please disable UAC prior to the installation of BAT4Max v5. After installation had been finished you would have 2 options – either keep UAC turned off, or turn UAC back on but allow to yourself (your user name) full control of \BAT folder Alternatively you may install 3ds Max outside of “Program Files” folder.

Has anyone had any luck getting the lighting rigs to function properly in 3ds max 2014?  I haven't been able to...  I changed my input gamma to 2.2 and output gamma to 1.0 in the INI files for max but it still doesn't look right.  I had to take the MR exposure from 16EV to about 14.875EV to get a passable looking model.  If simfox is reading this what needs to be changed for this to function properly?  Perhaps I can take a look at the Maxscript and see if there's any way to fix this?

I resolved this with the BAT4MAX 5 fix posted on the Stex.  More fixes are to come...

Thank you!   If anyone is interested this also resolves the no "flush" function problem.

Rendering issues regarding scale? I've tried rendering two of my recent models and unfortunately, they seemed to have scaled down drastically for some unknown reason. I had them run through SC4PIMX to convert the SC4models of the BATs I made into props so they could be read and be usable as props on Lot Editor.

Then they turned out like this: (Ordinary props - no wealth)

4Y69A.jpg

Then this is what the render looked like in PIMX: (Skycar)

4Y6gg.jpg

And the other BAT model: (Prothean Artifact)

4Y6io.jpg

Currently, my only successful render has been my crates that you see in the first picture. They're the correct scale I expected with no surprises hidden in the renders. No problems.

Just a little curious as to why these are happening to  my other renders though. I'm not sure 3dsMax likes me very much. :O

Yep, I'm rendering those both in HD quality. I've made sure that the LODs were loaded as HD in gmax as well but is that a contributing factor to why the renders appear like that? If so, then I guess I probably forgot or pressed the wrong button and missed out the HD quality toggle for the LODs when I created the SC4Model files.
