OK, so for some reason the normal BAT tool has decided that I don't have SimCity on my computer even though I have the normal dvd version and it's installed in the right location.  Does this mean that bat4max won't work?

Because you surely have a steam version and that in steam version, the files are located under steamapps

Nope, it's the DVD version, 100% sure.  I have the BAT Tool on another computer though so somewhere between that computer, and my new one my disk got busted.

Someone was successful to fix the blurred effect in 3dsmax 2014.

I did 2 renders with the same scene, it s really different

I would say that the colors need to be toned down a bit, but other than that, it's good to go. I think it will be better to use 3dsmax 2013.

Could it be anti-aliasing?

To add to the 1st post for people using 2014 and 2015

To avoid low quality render issue please use the following settings for the render options.

Classic / Raytrace

Min Samples: 1

Max Samples: 16

Do not use the new 'Unified / Raytrace' since this causes model artifacts to appear and white edges on the alpha masks.

Well, I had scoured the threads in search of the answer, but to no avail, although I know this is an easy fix.

I just installed MAX 2014, and when I tried to install BAT4MAX, I got this error.  I do not think it is a UAC error, because I changed those settings and got the same message.

I agree with Jason, this is almost certainly to be UAC, but best way to counter is to run both programs (3DSMax and GMAX-BAT) in Administrator mode. Be interested to know if that doesn't work as its pretty much 100% guaranteed :thumb:

What are the benefits of updating to 2014 anyway? Anything significant that makes it worth going from '12 to '14? Just need a shakedown, not so much an overwhelmingly large amount of FAQs and information pages ;)

Yeah I think that is a UAC error. Keep on turning it off. :P

It's as looooooow as it can go. :P  I have Windows 8, maybe that is the issue?

Regardless, I think I will use MilkShape 3D for my automata, it works much better with low poly. :P

The UAC stuff is super confusing to me so I have no advice for finding whatever it is that you missed, but the error is for sure related to UAC. The error is saying that there was a problem copying the file over, and that happened because it didn't have permission to move files in that folder. You can try googling for advice and you can even google that error to see what other people have done.

Thanks so much for your help, guys, I really appreciate it. :)

Despite the fact that I am an administrator on my computer, I did have to run the program as an administrator in order to run the script.

Thanks again!!

Yeah, that tends to happen for some odd reason. It took me a while to figure that out as well :P

I have a question. When I export a sketchup model as a (.3ds) file , it appears as a small gray box when imported into SC4BAT or it just makes SC4BAT crash. What do I do to fix it?!?. I need help! I really want to start making BATs!

First of all you've to purchase the paid version of Sketchup to be able to import your models to Gmax or 3ds Max, or this same error will always appear. If you already have the paid version, you can try to save your models on Sketchup as "sketchup 8", since newer versions give problems sometimes in exporting and version 8 always work.

I have the free version, and works without any problems what so ever.

Really? o.O

When I tried with free version I was having errors, then people here told me it was due to not being paid and then it worked indeed. Weird.

Hi, folks :)

I'm trying to make custom LODs in the Max but there's something wrong. I named it LOD3 and then I did two copies and named them LOD4 and LOD5. The previews are looking ok (doesn't appear the message saying LODs don't exist), but the LODs are not being invisible, when I click to hide them nothing occurs, does someone know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Custom LODs might be in your hidden in your default layer group. Automatic LODs create a LOD 3-5 layer group, but my custom LODs are in my default layer group.

Fixed, today it is working. Weird bug.

But now I have a doubt, is it possible to remove the LODs to make others? Actually I'm not doing the LODs in the Max, but importing them, and when I try to remove it it just doesn't work.

You just have to make it visible and then you can select it in a viewport and delete it. I don't think it selects the actual object if you're trying to select it from the layer manager.

Alright, me again, I think no one has so many bugs as I do :(

Habib's is completely done, I already exported it in the SD versions and it looks fine, but I will do HD version as well, and there is the problem. First I used the same custom LODs I used to export the SD version, and then, in the Lot Editor the bug appears, it's in zoom 5 and 6, the other zooms are fine.

Already tried to do custom LODs again, then I tried to do the automatic LODs, deleted the lights, reseted the cameras, and nothing fix this. Anyone know how to fix this? I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Before you created the .SC4model file in gmax did you open the preview tab and select HDoutput?
