Looks great to me, I think the roof textures needs some work, but that does not matter now I just need to see the modeling finished. :D

Yoshiisland - Thank you :) And about you question - no, it was like you said before the annex building was built.

Aaron Graham - Thank you Aaron :) I understand that that you mean that I should spoil roof textures a little ;)

    Vlasky - Thank you :)

I want to take a break from Farley so I did some work on Penn Station (and Penn Hotel too, but there isn't too much to show):

    Thank you guys :)

Francis90b - There is no big deal with Penn Hotel, it's true that the building is big but it's not very complicated :)

This time I have a small update form terraces.. :)

Lovely details, so you think that making the Penn Hotel is not very complicated you are a bating detail hero if it's not very complicated. :D

Amazing work indeed! Beautiful fountain and terraces. I have to reserve a place for these in my city!

Sorry to bump your thread, but while I was exploring Shorpy.com today I found some pics you might like to see and that might help you. Oh and I'll also quote here some texts from those pages just so you don't miss them:

"Circa 1912. "Post Office, New York City." Although it looks about a million years old, the Eighth Avenue post office is still under construction in this view. Enlarged in 1934, it's now called the James Farley Building and has the zip code 10001. The famous motto "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" is inscribed on the entablature"

And close up of Bethesda from 70s with bunch of hippies :D

Aaron Graham - Oh come on  But speaking of Penn Hotel - I'm thinking about making the roof as it was on original renderings from MMW, which means it would have four pavilions on top instead of one.

    Here we are: penn.jpg

    Art128 - Thank you :)

Vlasky - Thank you. I think making part of the ground (all slopes, etc.) is the best option because it allows me to avoid problems with ground levels in the game About boundaries... it should be 8x9 tiles And thank you for the photos, first one is very interesting because it gives me an idea how to diversify side entrances of the building, it also shows primary ground material of the dry moat. The second is quite well-known but when I look at it now I think about making sidewalk together with original lamps... but I don't know if it's a good idea. The third made me sad... just look at all that graffiti on fountain...

Simbourgeois - Thank you, it will be a pleasure to see my Terraces in your city :)

Before the update: I'm sorry that i'm not active in the team lately, but I don't have as much time for 3D as before. I just want to say that I really read about everything that happens here even if I don't have much time to write something back. And I will try to find some more time to simcity and 3D in the near future.

Ok, I almost finished the modeling part, I know that rear elevation is different than in reality but it's because of ground levels in real building. What I made it's not the best solution of the problem, but I have limited space to solve it (I can't make building longer that 16 tiles) so I made it in that way. And now I think I will make some changes to side entrances according to photo that Vlasky gave me :)

You said the post office will be 8x9 tiles? Google Earth shows that the building and surrounding moat, or whatever it is, measures244x137 meters, so about 15.3x8.6 SC4 tiles. I'd just round up to 16x9 for the lot, but keep the building true to the real dimensions. Also, those stepped pyramids are only present on the corners of the building, not at the center.

Edit: I just realized you were talking about the fountain being 8x9, not the post office.

I love this man!! I have a huge area set aside in my city just for this wonderful thing. Being patient as ever, but it'll go right where it needs to be when it's done. But it's done; when it's done. No pressure my friend. ;)

I'm glad some photos were helpful.

Well Yes Seraf, making sidewalks with those gorgeous Lamps might be a good idea, but than again what would happen is that Light poles of SC4 would also appear so it would look kinda funky. And PBGV, really good job! I have also missed seeing that those pyramids are not on the whole building :)

About Bethesda, I think that's a good plan you have there. I hate Terra-forming so it fits a BAT :)

And I can't wait to see Penn and the Penn hotel! Oh, and btw, urban decay can be attractive :) I prefer hippies in Central Park to those smug high-class horse riding thieves :) lol

    DragonAnime - Thank you :)

PBGV103 - Yes I was talking about Terraces, FPO will have 16x9 tiles :)

The "pyramids" in the center of the building are partly my invention, I saw on original renderings that pyramids were planned for all four corners of original building, I supouse they were not not made on the rear side because of saving money. But if you and the rest think they shouldn't be there I can delete them :)

Aaron Graham - Me too Aaron ;D

Yoshiisland - Haha, I promise I wil try to finish it in the near future :)

Vlasky - Hmm, so maybe there is some method to block SC4 lamps from appearing? About Terraces - I also hate playing with terra-forming, so that's why I chose this way to make terraces ;) Well, I think I'm "beautiful city movement" man, so urban decay is not accetable for me :D BTW, I don't have anything against hippies ^^

This building is coming along extraordinarily. I don't know nearly enough to critique it, so I'll just continue to wave a flag from the sidelines with your name on it, Seraf. However, I just noticed you were adding textures to the sides of the building, and that's great to see. :D

I don't think there is any way to block lamps on the roads surrounding a particular lot. I think that you would have to make a mod that blocks all Maxis lamps, which not a lot of people would care for. I could be wrong, though.

Alternatively, you could transit enable the roads around the lot, and place the lamps around the road but that would have its obvious limitations.

I think if the lot is going to be 16x9 SC4 tiles, and the building is only 8.6x15.3 SC4 tiles, then you could set the lamps back into the lot without difficulty, and the Maxis lamps wouldn't really ruin it.

Beautiful. You managed to make the roof look non repetitive or stretched. Something common in BATs with even small roofs. :P
