true, an interchange really should be functional, meaning connect all flowing traffic dirrection to each and every way..  personally i prefer this to be done without the use of stoplights to avoid traffic problems.

Haljackey, as always some killer interchange designs.. but ive been wondering, whats with the low res grass?

Vilbe, I like what you're developing, as far as eyecandy. Yet the highway doesn't seem like it'll be very high-capacity oriented.

Moshi, you do know that a RHW-4 neighbor connection doesn't work, right? To make it functional it has to be changed to a RHW-2 connection. Also, as cool as it looks, it isn't really an interchange, and would better fit in the "show us your highways" thread.

Haljackey, except for the highway being interrupted by stoplights (which would actually work well when development comes along), I like that interchange.

Dsrwhat, that's a cool interchange (I'm guessing you get onto the left lane of the highway at another point). I can't say anything else about it; it's simple and effective.

These interchanges are very impressive! I'll try to create and post a real soon. For now here's a random airport-interchange-thingy I created (fully functional). Feel free to criticize it however you like to (I never meant it to be a serious thing; I just wanted to see how crazy an interchange I could make).

a ariel view of more of the highway network, and the revitalization of a vibrant urban core. population's back to where it should be....

City2themax, so far the only ways on or off the highways are the avenue's. while development on the outside of the ring highway is just beggining, traffic on the highway isn't bad enough to be considered congested. there are few yellow parts, but ironiclly its the subway/rail lines in the red. i'm planning to turn my region into a CJ, and highway redevelopment is going to be a top subject..

    chrisnhl50: Good work!

-LOL, it seems like you left the hole digging where the tunnel is!

-Your inner lanes are 3 lanes, but only 1 tile wide. The RHW-6 is a 2-tiled network, so it looks a little funny. It might be best to reduce it to a RHW-4.

-Again, watch your MIS-one way connections. If you want a 2 lane ramp, I would suggest the RHW-4 exit puzzle piece. You can then connect this to a one way instead of using the MIS.

-Your full resolution link is http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/2049/interchangelk2.jpg, not http://imageshack.us/?x=my6&myref=http://imageshack.us/ LOL!

Here is a concept plan for a proposed interchange in one of my cities.  Buildings are not shown but the interchange's complexity is due to space constraints created by buildings.

dogma555:  That sharp curve on the overpass just killed it for me.  Looking at the rest with my hand over that overpass, it looks great!  Make sure to extend your RHW-6 a tile to make it line up properly on the right.

caspervg:  Nice Parclo A-2 interchange!   I applaud the nice smooth curves too!  39.gif I also like the water inside one of the loops!

Anyways, more "Works in progress" from me.  As I continue to expand my region, I need to add more interchanges!

New transit hub interchange.  Also shown is a Parclo A-4 on the highway and a unique interchange on the RHW:

A very long and tight ramp due to the elevation of the interchange!

@ Haljackey: Thanks, that's what I call an embanked highway. I would try smoothing out some of the slopes though, some look a bit bumpy. I really like the multihighway interchange and the transit hub.

One more from me, same concept; but applied to an embanked highway.

caspervg: Like I said, its still a work in progress. I plan to smooth the slope out some more and construct the ramp in the opposite direction soon. Its proving quite a challenge to get the "perfect" slope here.

As for your new interchange, it's excellent! Great slopes and curves make it terrific in my books! The Parclo A-2 looks very european!
