After studying these pictures and looking up the legal maximum height limits for lorries in the UK (about 5m), I realised that I can have L2 overpasses going under L1 (of 7.5m) underpasses- without the truck automata on L1 hitting the L2 overpass. This is going to make my T-interchanges a lot more easier to make!

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

A new trumpet variant interchange I made for the downtown area of a new city. Id like you guys' help with two matters:

1. What should I name the city?

2. What could be improved here?

As always, enjoy!

I can tell you from experience that that diagonal MIS that goes under both bridges was probably a huge pain in the rear. Looks fantastic, and very compact! Very very well done! my *only* suggestion is that you use the long transition on the level 2 mis. Cars are going to have a mighty bit of trouble climbing that steep of an incline.

Nice workaround the lack of a on-slope diagonal transition or a elevated smooth curve ;)

Thanks. And thanks again for giving me the idea to recreate real-life interchanges :)

This is one of the first interchanges I've made. Maxis Cloverleaf to show how unrealistic those things are.

This is a simple interchange at a 90° highway curve. To the top I'm planning to build a city with approx. 15,000 inhabitants. The easiest solution for the off-ramp to the bottom of the picture was to construct a tunnel, but it's not functional yet (the city to the bottom hasn't been developed yet at all, anyway). And since I didn't know a better way to build ramps to the right, and I needed a bridge for the farming vehicles to cross the highway, I decided to build a simple semi-diamond interchange in order to allow my cars to drive to the right. Furthermore, I had to regard the fact that this last bit of natural chestnut forest is being protected, so I can't build ramps there.

Hope you like it. Suggestions on how to improve this interchange, as well as how to decorate it, are welcome.

And this is a view of the same interchange turned by 90°.

Not bad, curves can be hard to build on.

However I think that semi diamond is too small, especially for a rural area. You could use a FARHW to make the MIS two tiles away from the main highway and use an earthen ramp.

    Just my two cents.

Now to showcase some of my own work.
    tumblr_n2ob7kGOUe1rcw94uo1_1280.png

Land constraints can present you with nifty works once it forces you to work away from the traditional diamond. Building on curves is hard but pays off.

    Overview of the general area.

Building an interchange in this area has been my ideal ever since I started this region. Only today did I figure out how to accomplish this. Relatively compact as needs to be for the area!

    Nice interchanges Yoshi.

On the level crossing thing, according to the government on the tv they are "improving" all level crossings. Aka adding more traffic lights :P

Put this way: the government has only removed three crossings; two in Mitcham and one in Springvale.

But I have plans to grade separate! Might do a journal entry on it.

I look forward to it! (You do seem to have a trash problem in your city, though :P )

Don't worry, I fixed it as for some reason my export deal stopped.
