Description:

Palacio Linares is what is picture above. It is an important building in Madrid so I have posted two other image links and below are a number of information links about the building. It would be great if the building could contain jobs and/or maintain its function as a museum. The building would fit onto a 2x2 or 3x3 tile in the game.

www.qype.co.uk/place/407880-Palacio-de-Linares-CASA-DE-AMERICA--Madrid

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

Aside from the building's beauty and elegance, I think it would be an excellent addition to the current collection of European buildings on the STEX. I personally don't think there are enough European buildings on the STEX compared to buildings from the USA for example and this building not only fits into Spanish cities but also French, Italian or any other general European city on SC4.

130 Liberty Street

DeutscheBank.jpg

Links to websites:

en.structurae.de/structures/data/index.cfm

www.emporis.com/application/

Description: This office tower served as the former offices for Deutsche Bank before 9/11. The Buildings height is 512ft.(157m.), with 39 floors. The building is currently undergoing deconstruction for Tower 5 of the "new" WTC complex. Deconstruction should be completed by 2010.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: Its a real shame it is beng torn down for something that the people of New York don't even like. There also isn't enough American International and modernist style skyscrapers on the STEX to choose from, plus a building like this would make for awsome filler. I also find the Steel girder lattice-like structure to be rather intriguing.

Stunning design is very impressive, very tall for those who like tall, and a great addition to those seaside metropolis's.

TTC Orion V, Orion VII, and GM "Fishbowl"

1) Orion V

bus-8509-07.jpg

2)Orion VII

TTC7860.JPG

3)GM Fishbowl

bus-8702-01.jpg

EDIT: THE ORION V AND ORION VI is already been made, but the GM "Fishbowl" is still on request.

It would be nice if the destination board says "50 Burnhamthrope" and it will also be nice if it animates and changes to "To Islington Stn."

If you can, could you make it not replace the buses in the game so i could use different buses.

Description:

Orion V - Throughout 1991 and 1992 the TTC took delivery of 106 Orion 5s replacing earlier GM ‘New Look’ models. They were numbered 6640-6745 and came equipped with air conditioning, power steering, vandal proof seats and easier access features. They were also the first TTC buses which came equipped with Electronic destination signs. Over their career, they were based out of Eglinton, Queensway and Malvern divisions and now reside at Birchmount and Queensway divisions.

TTC also ordered 25 addtional Orion 5s powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel and based them out of Wilson garage. They have all been retired with the last of the units pulled from service in the beginning of March 2005.

Orion VII- Originally ordered in 2002 as a 220 unit, two year order for delivery in 2003 (7400-99) and 2004 (7500-7619), with an option for an additional 250 vehicles in 2005, which the TTC picked up in 2003 (7620-7881; an additional 12 vehicles were added in 2005, likely as compensation for Orion not delivering the 2003 and 2004 orders on time), TTC has since placed another order with Orion for 330 more VIIs for delivery in 2006 and 2007; 180 will be diesel (80 (7900-7979) to be delivered in 2006 and 100 (8000-8099) to be delivered in 2007), and the remaining 150 will be diesel-electric hybrids to be delivered in 2006. The Orion VIIs currently operate on all routes at Eglinton division, a majority of routes at Arrow Rd division, and are in the process of being added to the roster at Birchmount division, where new accessible services will operate later this year. With these orders, the Orion VIIs will be the most represented model in the TTC’s fleet, replacing the GM New Look in this regard.

GM "Fishbowl"- The TTC ordered it’s last New Looks in 1981 (8570 -8985), and to this very day the 40 year old design continues in service, they are concidered to be the most reliable bus in the fleet and are the favorites among the drivers and many enthusiasts. In fact, the Commission is so pleased with these buses that they are rebuilding most of them and have even purchased a number of second hand ones from Montreal. They will continue in service well into the future, when it’s hoped that a replacement, which can live up to the New Look name can be found.

How would it benifits the community:

It would increase the realistic of the game.

Bankers Hall

306672.jpg

Links for more information:

www.emporis.com/en/wm/cx/

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bankers_Hall

Descripton:

The Bankers Hall Complex is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Each tower rises to a height of 646ft.(197m), 52 floors each. A building known as the Royal Bank Building is included in the complex. at 344ft.(105m) tall and 24 floors, it's the shortest building in the complex. Bankers Hall-east tower was constructed in 1989, foolwing Bankers Hall-west Tower in 2000. The Royal Bank Building was constructed in 1968.

Why this would be beneficial to the game or community:

The STEX has its own collection of Calgary Skyscrapers, but mostly in the middle of the skyscraper spectrum. these buildings are the second tallest buildings in the city, since they are identical in height. This would also make a great addition to any Large-sized city, especially if you're trying to recreate Calgary. The Royal Bank Building also makes for great filler. too.

Links to other images:

s697.photobucket.com/albums/vv331/Bristol_Travel/MADRID-Spain/

commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php

Description:

Teatro Espanol is an elegant place for both acting and music overlooking a pretty square in the Hapsburg part of Madrid. The architecture is typical of a lot of civic buildings in Madrid. It will probably fit onto a 3x4 (the front of the building being 4 tiles) and it would be great if it could be in W2W style, adjoining to other buildings.

travel.nytimes.com/travel/guides/europe/spain/madrid/3044/teatro-espanol/nightlife-detail.html

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

There are nowhere near enough European theatres on the STEX and this sort of building adds culture and character to many European and perhaps even older areas of American-style cities.

Description:

Western Canadian Place is an office tower complex in Calgary, Alberta. It consists of two buildings, the taller North Tower and the shorter South Tower.

Why the community would benefit from these buildings:

They are beautiful and will add diversity.  Sorry I couldn't find an aerial photo to show the ground.

Got inspired by mben92's request for Bankers Hall request above.  Here's another Calgary building.

Petro-Canada Centre

359px-PetroCanadaCenter.JPG

Links:   en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petro-Canada_Centre

              www.emporis.com/en/wm/cx/

Description:

The Petro-Canada Centre is situated in the office core of downtown Calgary. At 215m(705ft.) tall and 53 floors, it is the tallest building in Calgary and outside Toronto. The shorter East Tower rises to a height of 130m(426ft.) tall with 32 floors. The buildings are constructed from red granite with reflective glass windows.

Why this would be beneficial to the game or community:

Not only are they the tallest buildings, but because of their ditinctive red color they stand out as one of the most recognizable buildings in the calgary skyline. They also make any skyscraper district stand out more in any city and would add to anybody's collection of skyscrapers when recreating Calgary.

Rogers Centre (Sky Dome)

225px-RogersCentre_Toronto_Sept1-05.jpg

Description:

Rogers Centre, formerly known as SkyDome, is a multi-purpose stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, situated next to the CN Tower near the shores of Lake Ontario. Originally opened in 1989, it is home to the American League's Toronto Blue Jays, the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts, the site of the annual International Bowl American college football bowl game, and as of 2008, the National Football League's Buffalo Bills' second playing venue in the Bills Toronto Series. While it is primarily a sports venue, it also hosts other large-scale events such as conventions, trade fairs, concerts, funfairs, and monster truck shows. The stadium was renamed "Rogers Centre" following the purchase of the stadium by Rogers Communications in 2005.

The venue was noted for being the first stadium to have a fully-retractable motorized roof, as well as for the 348-room hotel attached to it, with 70 rooms overlooking the field. It is also the most recent North American major-league stadium built to accommodate both football as well as baseball, although some of the newer baseball parks have been known to host the occasional college football game (AT&T Park, Chase Field, and Safeco Field, to name a few).

NOTE: For the batters who wants to do this, if you can, can you please make the roof retractable.

Why would this benitfit the community:

This isn't on the STEX.

i'd like a big quidditch stadium, the size of a soccer or american football ones, for the wizard & muggle sims alike to host major Quidditch league games or even the World Cup

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

The Palace of Westminster

010.jpg

1084x768 nightime view

Description

The Palace of Westminster, also referred to as the Houses of Parliament, is a governmental building in London housing both houses of the British legislature, that of the House of Commons and House of Lords. One of it's most prominent substructures is the massive clock tower of Big Ben, which has been running for more than 150 years.

Links:

A Wikipedia article on the building

The official website of the UK Parliament's section on the building

A visitors guide to the building

A virtual tour of Westminster Square (requires Java)

Information and pictures of the building (may be especially useful to nightlighters)

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community

It is one of London, England and indeed the entire UK's most iconic locations. It would provide a transatlantic parallel to the existing US Capitol Building, and would go a long way towards aiding players who desire to recreate the City of London or parts thereof. Big Ben is already in existence, while the rest of the structure is not.

Suggestions for Development

I would suggest having a few different versions. Firstly, one which is seperate from Big Ben then another which includes Big Ben, then two different versions which would go between classic SC4 landmark or job-providing civic building.

Federal Signal Thunderbolt

thunderbolt.jpg

(look closely in that image)

Source: Bing Maps

Location: Riverview, MI (Civic Park Dr at Fire Station)

Description:

Website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt_siren

The Thunderbolt siren is a discontinued electro-mechanical warning siren that was once manufactured in the United States by Federal Signal Corporation. The Thunderbolt siren consists of three motors. The blower motor, a type of roots pump, is housed inside a large rectangular motor box typically found at the base of the siren (or in some installations on a wooden platform mounted half way up the utility pole; other methods include mounting a long wooden platform halfway up between two poles.). This motor is connected to a standpipe which blows or pumps air up to the chopper motor. As the chopper spins, the air forced into it escapes out of rapidly opening and closing holes, creating the siren's sound or "roar." Finally, a rotator motor turns the siren's projector horn 360 degrees when in operation. The Thunderbolt could be shipped as using single- or three-phase power and could either be pole-mounted or roof-mounted.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

This would be a perfect addition to my cities and other cities (such as HOOK21's cities). I tried to make one, but it was not good.

Cadillac One

medium_3196660161_114032f554_o.jpg

Image that may prove useful in highlighting features of the car that may prove useful to modders in terms of modifying the car's durability and external appearance

Description

The official Presidential car of current President of the United States Barack Obama, to replace the black limousine that presently spawns with the White House landmark. The car, in the tradition of most recent US Presidents, has been made by Cadillac, though it is based on a GMC Topkick. It's main differences with the in game black limousine are length, shininess colour of windows, trim, durability and the presence of two flags at it's front, the United States flag on the left side and the Presidential standard on the right. If possible, make it UDIable, which would aid those wishing to write DC CJs (for example).

Links

Car enthusiasts website article on the new Presidential car

Wikipedia article on the car

Why this would be beneficial to the community

It would provide a little added realism and authenticity for those wishing to recreate the famous US capital city or those wishing to have a model of their own they could modify for Presidential visits to their own foreign SimCity. It would also improve the currently very limited range of limousines currently available on the STEX or in-game.

Description:

This is a 65 story office tower is Chicago's Loop. Located adjacent to the Sears Tower, this building is one of Chicago's most visible due to its lighted crown.

Why this would be beneficial to the community:

Not only would this building look good in just about every modern city, but it would be an interesting challenge to an experienced BATer.

2 Prudential Plaza

Description:

This 64 story building is an icon of the Chicago lakefront was formerly the worlds tallest reinforced concrete building, and houses a variety of tenants.

Why this would be beneficial to the community:

Its a unique and beautiful building that probably wouldn't be all that difficult to make, but would be great in most cities as a landmark or ploppable office.

Bank of the Southwest Tower

448911.jpg

Description:

This proposal won a design competition 1982, but was never built. The site of where the building should stand is a parking lot 14.gif. The Building would have stood at a height 1,404ft.(427.87m.) with 82 floors.

Why this would be beneficial to the game or community:

Instead of requesting existing buildings, I've decided to make a few requests for buildings that never quite made it into reality. This would have also been the tallest building in the United states built in the 1980s, second tallest in the US, and west of the Mississippi. Its quite a marvelous strusture, if I may say so myself. for anybody trying to recerate Houston, this would make a more than worthy addition.

The One First National Center (middle) in dowtown Omaha, Nebraska was built in 2002 and is the tallest building in Omaha and Nebraska with a height of 634 ft (193 m). It is 45 stories and is located on Dodge Street in Omaha.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

This BAT would benefit the players that want to make a city, but don't want the huge, tall buildings. It would be good for making mid-rise skylines. And also for players that just want this beautiful building in their cities.

Thank you!

222 Building

222Building-Oct06-002a.jpg

http://www.glasssteelandstone.com/Images/US/WI/Appleton/222Building-Oct06-002a.jpg

Description:

This building, the 222 Building, is located in Appleton, Wisconsin.Population: 72,085. It includes Johnson Bank, Steve Kagen's Goverment Place, and LOTS of cubicles. There should be a ploppable and a growable version, and each should supply about 750 CO$$ jobs. It would go in the New York Tileset.

Grove Consulting from the game is only 5 stories tall. This one is 12 stories and takes up a lot more space.

Why this would be benefical for the SC4 community:

It is a building that is 12 stories tall, making it great for meidium sized cities. It also makes for some diversity in the community here, as many larger buildings are made of almost all glass and metal.

Thanks, Simtropolis!
