Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica (Costa Rica National Theater)

Description

One of the most important buildings in san José, the capital of Costa Rica. It opened to the public on October 21, 1897 with a performance of  Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust. It was built at a time where most of San José was cofee plantations, being a cultural asset for the country. It has remained an important tourist attraction and an active theater.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Theatre_of_Costa_Rica

How would it contribute to the community?

Because there is a lack of custom latin american buildings, none from CR, and this is a world recognized landmark. Also it will look amazing with a large plaza, and add a nice touch of art and culture to many cities, especially small to medium sized. I would do it myself but I do not have the skill to make such a model, so if one of you could please do it I would appreciate it a lot!

Final note: the color of the roof is currently red.

Falck & Co Headquarter, Heidelberg Germany

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-_wEHC784jXo/TmiMjaIlzlI/AAAAAAAAAAQ/G0JDdvEmTmU/s709/_1440657.jpg

Description

Office Building outside of the City of Heidelberg. Falck & Co is a german consultancy. In this building are settled different smaller offices.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

Oh, it's historically or artistic without any importance. It's only that I pass there every day and it makes me think I plopped buildings from around the world but never ever a building of my region. Not even the castle of heidelberg was made for sc4. Or the famous park of Schwetzingen. Or the "Wasserturm" from Mannheim. Or the Building of "print media academy" with the "iron printing hores" in front of it (http://www.heidelberg-marketing.de/content/tourism/sights/memorials/s_printing_horse/index_eng.html).

Please allow me to suggest three very different but outstanding museum buildings.

1. Ny Carlsberg Glyptothek, Kopenhavn, Denmark

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1f/Front_facade_-_Ny_Carlsberg_Glyptotek_-_Copenhagen_-_DSC09556.JPG

DESCRTIPTION

Build in 1888 by Vilhelm Dahlerup. Offers an incredible amount of masterpieces from ancient

agypt to impressionism. A "must have seen before you die".

2. Neue Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart

http://mds43sha.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/dsc023881.jpg

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/52/Staatsgalerie1.jpg

DESCRIPTION

The building itself is much older but his very expressive look it becames in 1984 by the well known british architect James Stirling. It shows very well the ideas of "postmodernism". The museum itself offers artworks from middle ages to contemporary.

3. Museo Paolo Orsi, Siracusa, Italy

http://s3.vidimg.popscreen.com/original/13/OTM3MDY5NTM=_o_siracusa-1990---museo-archeologico-regionale-paolo-orsi.jpg

http://www.ibmsnet.it/siracusa/paoloors.html

DESCRIPTION

Once Siracusa was one of the biggest and most important cities in the world. It's kind of sad that today everybody thinks of Rome or Athens when he thinks of the ancient world and Siracusa seems to be a little bit forgotten. Sad, because when you look on this masterpiece of architecture You'll see that it blends perfectly arabic and european traditions. Also you'll find in Siracusa a building that once was a greek temple then a mauretanian mosque an then became a christian church. Very unique building. But you'll find this everywhere in the buildings of Scicily - a blend of time, of ancient and modernism, and in the same time a blend of cultures.

Created by the italian architect Franco Minissi, who died in 1996, this museum opened in 1988. You find ancient objects off different (also unknow!) functionality, not only "art" in it - wonderful and rare pieces. Like the city itself. It's worth a visit.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community

Compared to the many school buildings there aren't that much museum buildings for sc4. But even when sims finished school and become older they desire some high quality entertainment. These three museums are definitely sugar for them. And all three are worth to be named in sc4 - as sc4 is not only a game where sims gain knowledge but (thanks to you) became also some kind of library of architecture,

for me, the player.

Remington Tower - Tulsa, Oklahoma

tower.jpg

https://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac27/jason_everett2/130988-Large.jpg

https://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac27/jason_everett2/254921-Large.jpg

Description:

On business in Tulsa, I find myself passing this building off of I-44 and thinking to myself, "this looks SO Simcity".  Every time I pass, I wish that I could plop it deep in my downtown, or along side my sunken highway.  It reminds me of one of the japanese "pencil" towers.

http://www.emporis.com/building/remingtontower-tulsa-ok-usa

http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=42781

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

Well, to be honest, there is no REAL reason of why it should be made, other than it's a pretty building.  Whenever I build my downtown areas, I find that I have too many HUGE towers, and the area seems crowded and unrealistic.  My smaller buildings and shorter towers tend to get dropped multiple times just to fill up the area.  Another smaller design would be great to add to the list of smaller buildings to fill those larger downtown areas, or smaller cities.  It's a simpler design, with a unique look.  Plus, I'll give you fifty bucks.

Just kidding on the fifty bucks.

Thanks,

JME

Asian Cairns - Futuristic Farms

Dezeen_Asian-Cairns-by-Vincent-Callebaut

http://www.dezeen.com/2013/03/21/asian-cairns-by-vincent-callebaut/

Description -

As the title states, these are futuristic farms.  Follow the link to learn more about these.

Why this would be beneficial to the community -

This would be beneficial to the community because of the finite number of buildings available to make futuristic cities.  This would also be a good BAT for SimMars, as well, a game that has limited additional plugins, too.

Hi, Can someone please make ploppable high rocks (small, medium, and large) ON WATER?

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

It would be great to be able to develop not just the main cities but also the coastal areas (especially when creating a tropical paradise)

Something similar to these:

There are already a lot of supermarkets for the game (Aldi, Lidl, Carrefour, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Albert Heijn, Intermarché, Food Lion,...). Several can be found on kurier.simcityplaza.de. Google can be helpful too :)

...Unless you really need Jumbo or Action in your city :P

Kingdom Tower from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

dec2006773vr5ba7.jpg

The Union Bank Plaza from the Philippines (the one on the center).

Description:

1.) Kingdom Tower - skyscraper currently under construction in JeddahSaudi Arabia at a preliminary cost of SR4.6 billion (US$1.23 billion). It will be the centrepiece and first phase of a SR75 billion (US$20 billion) proposed development known as Kingdom City that will be located along the Red Sea on the north side of Jeddah. If completed as planned, the tower will reach unprecedented heights, becoming the tallest building in the world, as well as the first structure to reach the one-kilometre mark.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Tower

2.) Union Bank Plaza (Ortigas) - an office skyscraper located in Pasig CityPhilippines. It rises 206 metres (676 feet) from ground level to roof, and is currently the tallest complete building in Pasig City, and the 10th-tallest building in the country and Metro Manila as well. The building has 49 levels above ground, and 6 basement levels.

True to its name, the bank serves as the headquarters for Union Bank of the Philippines, the seventh-largest bank in the Philippines in terms of assets. Other tenants of UnionBank Plaza include major business process outsourcing companies, like Sykes EnterprisesBranders.comPCCW, among others. However, the building's main tenant, UnionBank, also maintains some executive offices at the SSS Building in Makati City.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UnionBank_Plaza

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

The reason why I chose these buildings because the Kingdom Tower will be the newest tallest building in the world, and the Union Bank Plaza is the 10th tallest building in my country. Also, I noticed that there are no BAT Buildings that originated from the Philippines, and for me, it's a shame.

I was hoping that maybe that New Orleans or St. Louis buildings from the early 1800s or possibly Philadelphia, Charleston, NYC, Baltimore or Boston from the late 1700s and early 1800s would make a good look. Can anybody make such a BAT it would be nice.

Those have definitely been done, yes, for sure.  I will post a link to them, they are very good too, very good indeed.

You need to be logged in at SC4Devotion's LEX(lot exchange) before you can download, if you are not logged in to the LEX then the download button will not appear.  Make sure you are logged into the LEX and not the forum as they are completely seperate from one another.  Also you may want to do a search by the author's name,  C.P.(also known as Cycledogg), he is one of the most prolific authors ever.  EVERYONE uses his prop packs to this very day and his tree controllers and pretty much everything he did.

Yes, but those are strictly residential. I was hoping that Cycledogg can make some Commercial buildings in the American Colonial Style because it would make Historic CJs look nicer.

Norwich Bus Station

post-609601-0-54856900-1365542713_thumb.

I am trying to build a British styled city and every city in Britain has a bus station. After a few searches I have found nothing that would fit in with my city. So instead I google image searched for a British Bus Station and came across this beauty. If anyone would be able to create this I would be forever grateful and you would be deemed as forever awesome in my eyes.

I don't know if this is possible, but I would like to see a subway terminus with a classification yard.  I suppose it could be done manually using the subway to EL, but what is really needed is a surface subway station (subway to GLR?) from which trains can be run into a multi-track switching yard to be cleaned, switched to other routes, etc.  An example is the class yard in Toronto at the Davisville station.

I'd like it if somebody would do the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum out here in Uniondale, Long Island, New York. It's the home of the New York Islanders, who will be moving out of the arena in 2015. Here are some picture of the Coliseum:

If you want to, whoever might build this, I can message you more pictures. I dont want to take up too much space in this thread.

Also I was wondering if anybody would like to build the Lighthouse Project which would've renovated the Coliseum and redone the surrounding areas. It was never given approval to be built.

This is what it would've looked like:

IMG_0162.jpg

Personally I think it'd be really cool if somebody could build the Lighthouse Project... It'd be huge, probably one of the largest BAT's made.
