Hey, I don't know how often people actually look at this thread.

However, I think there is a glaring need for a Synagogue right now, something that functions as a House of Worship. Right now, we only have a couple of old, apparently dysfunctional lots on the STEX and The Little Synagogue (which is great, by the way, but a single tile building doesn't quite feel like a temple worthy of a big city).

I think there is a lot of flexibility in making one of these and you could have a lot of fun with it. I'll just put down a couple of big, nice-looking ones and see if anything comes of it.

Thanks so much!

Luxury Liner Row

DIZmel.jpg

Description:

Luxury Liner Row, officially the New York Passenger Ship Terminal located on the Hudson River alongside the West Side Highway in New York City serves as a terminal for ocean-going passenger ships. It consists of four piers 1100 feet (22 tiles) long and 400 feet (8 tiles) apart. Constructed in 1935, it was the only ocean-going passenger ship terminal in New York Harbor for decades.

More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Passenger_Ship_Terminal

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

The Maxis cruise ship terminal and even ones on the STEX are not fit for a very large city. The terminal would be unique to the game not only for its size but the hundreds of parking spaces located on it. If it was well BATted, it would bring a new level of realism to Sim City.

Olympiastadion Berlin

61475_ori_olympiastadion_berlin.jpg

http://img.fotocommunity.com/images/Sportstaetten/Fussballstadien/Olympia-Stadion-Berlin-a22527672.jpg

Description:

The Berlin Olympic Stadium is one of my favourite stadiums worldwide. Its architecture is well known and has been rewarded a couple of times already. It was originally built for the Berlin 1936 Olympics and has lasted until today, being modernized from 1999 until 2005 though. It is home to the German Soccer Club Hertha BSC and has already hosted a couple of large events, like the Athletics World Championship in 2009 and the annual ISTAF Athletics tournament.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

This file is not only spectacular in its architecture, but also recommendable for all aspirants who want to host the Simlympics. It would definitely be a huge boost to each city.

I was looking for a small brewery and bakery in medieval style, combined as one building if necessary, to go with a manor house. I don't know what it would look like; probably something that would go with castle puzzle pieces. Thanks for listening and to all the great bat makers, particularly medieval.

Use It should be exactly what you need

Edit: Since Im posting here i might as well make a BAT request too just for the lolz

Description

Narrow W2W building

002_dom.jpg

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

W2W buildings are too fat and need to loose weight like this one that is anarexic.

It would be necessary to recreate adelaide as i would like to do because i live in adelaide. and it would look cool in any city!

Hopefully someone could make the BAT transit enabled

Dear Computer commuter,

I have 2 request's one of which I noticed has been requested alot on Simcity Devotion they are the following...

The 1st and most requested:

The London 2012 Olympic Stadium:

2012_olympic_stadium_large_470x370.jpg

And!

The Shard, Western Europe's tallest building:

the-shard-by-renzo-piano-15.jpg

I really do think that both these would be successful BAT's becuase even if you are not aware or intending on representing you city as London these are without a doubt in a catergory that wherever you put them 9 / 10 times its going to look good a re-generate the area

I really hope someone re-creates these modern wonders in the virtual world.

thanks for reading.

Hi!

800px-Mcg_melb.JPG

MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground)(Suggestion)

Used for Cricket during summer, Australian Rules Football in winter, and has hosted FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Rugby and the 1956 Olympics

Description:

Major League Stadium Reward replacement.

I know there's already some good stadium BATs out there, but I would like to see the major league stadium reward replaced by one of them, or a new one, since baseball is not very common in my country (Australia).

A suggestion would be an AFL stadium without any team colours or logos on it so all Australians would use it, or a large International Cricket stadium which most British Commonwealth country citizens would use. Not soccer, since that already is the Minor League Stadium. (See picture for suggestion)

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

All Australian/Non US players would have a more realistic representation of a major league stadium in their cities.

Thanks!

Baker Hotel. Mineral Wells, Texas

Baker+Hotel.jpg

There are some other pics here:

http://en.wikipedia....l_Wells,_Texas)

and there are plenty if you google it

Description: Baker Hotel

I would like the Baker Hotel and the connecting pool as a ploppable object or reward for commercial.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

This would be good for another great historical hotel to add to the game. It could be a regular Hotel and Spa like it historically was. Or maybe it could be created as it sits today and can be supposedly haunted hotel, as it has been said to be.

I'm from Mineral Wells and would love to have this in my small town.

Hello all BAT makers of the SC4 community!

Manchester Town Hall and Manchester Cathedral

Since my home town is Manchester, England, and I one day plan on building the city accurately house for house, road for road (a huge project as I'm sure you can imagine), it would benefit me (and hopefully) the community greatly if you could make a BAT of both Manchester Cathedral and Manchester Town Hall. So far, neither of these have been made as Landmarks, which I feel is a shame as these are beautiful Gothic buildings and we also need more Mancunian landmarks. If possible when making these, can you also include the surrounding areas of the buildings, not just the building itself.

Description: Cemetery Niche

A 1x1 niche to mix with the currently cemeteries packs and parks

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

There are an interesting cemeteries packs in SC4, but I think We are missing something. In most towns arround the world, this is the way to get buried. Let's our sims the choose to rest in peace like this. Also the city council recives taxes to keep the cemetery clean.

AIG SunAmerica Center

and finally The L.A. Live Complex (I know the Staples Center has already been BATted, but doing the Nokia Theater, the Pierre Cossette Center and possibly the Convention Center too would be really cool :} )

Description:

As in this game we all ready have The Beehive from wellington which is half of the man part Parliamentary complex, I would like the House of Representatives that's part of the Parliamentary complex in Wellington.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:WellingtonParliamentEdit_gobeirne.jpg

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

The people who have The beehive has half the main complex, will get the house of Representatives. That includes the offices of the New Zealand Opposition Political Party, The debating chamber and many other offices and so on. It would supply roughly 1000 c$$$ jobs.

Christchurch Cathedral

Description:

The Christchurch Cathedral is an iconic landmark in Christchurch but it is now badly damaged due to the 2011 earthquake last year.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChristChurch_Cathedral,_Christchurch

Description:

Having a piece of New Zealand history like this in a game would be great and also since its no longer to be there now as its getting lulled down due to earthquakes. Also its such a beautiful building to put in any city or town. I was thinking to supply about 100 c$$ jobs as its not a full popular busy building.

Wellington Train station:

Description:

Wellington Train station is the main train station in central wellington New Zealand and the tracks go to the areas of Johnsonville, Kapiti and the Hutt Valley. Its a brown stone building with also offices from the Interislander ferry service which runs between the North and South island of New Zealand.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellington_Train_Station

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

A large old railway station which would look good in a large city with modern and old buildings. It would have 3 or 4 rail tracks to leave the station platform area and have a captivity of 10,000 people and also possible couple bus stops on in the drive in road. If it can supply jobs I was thinking 55 c$$ jobs and 245 c$$$ jobs

Thanks

Matt

Could someone please make a duplicate of this BAT / lot or whatever its called. I like to make small rural communities but placing a clinic, two schools, police and fire station all take up too much room and can ruin me financially. I downloaded this before and it didnt quite work out properly, i also downloaded something similar and that didnt work either.

An all in one building for small rural communities would be perfect. Education, health, police and fire in a single ploppable BAT or lot would help greatly for many others as well. Say maybe a couple hundred for student capacity, same goes for health and jail cells. Radius maybe extending a kilometer in diameter, plop cost couple thousand or ten or 15, idk get creative.

The Pentagon

pentagon46sf.jpg

pentagon94qq.jpg

Description

The Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, located in Arlington County, Virginia. As a symbol of the U.S. military, "the Pentagon" is often used metonymically to refer to the Department of Defense rather than the building itself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pentagon

http://www.loonwatch.com/tag/pentagon/

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

Well I think it'll add some realism for government cities like Washington, D.C., and it is a very interesting building; it's HUGE, has over thousands of workers, and it looks very well-made. This is something that is totally worth spending your time on making! :golly:

The Century Building, St. Louis, Missouri

I am making a request for a BAT of the Century Building, a now-demolished commercial building in St. Louis.

century30.jpg

The Century Building was one of Downtown St. Louis' notable commercial buildings from 1896 until it was callously demolished in 2004 for a parking garage at a time when other downtown parking garages were being underused. For its 108 years, the Century Building faced the Old Post Office across 9th Street, creating a grand and dignified civic space, an integral piece of downtown's largest intact historic district. Together with the conjoined Syndicate Trust Building, it was one of the city's largest buildings -- and arguably one of the most beautiful.

However, for years, both buildings stood nearly empty, subject to the vagaries of the market, capricious owners with a notable disregard for their integrity as architecture and their importance to the city, and a series of nefarious business deals which finally conspired to destroy the Century.

Today, in the place of an elegant, historically and architecturally significant building stands a parking garage, unlovingly dubbed the "Garage Mahal" by St. Lousians.

The story of the Century Building and its destruction is at this site:http://www.builtstlo.../century00.html

century_building-postcard.jpg

century-building102.jpg

The night before a judge was to decide on an injunction request against the demolition of the Century Building, the owners had the demolition company gouge out the building's corners, thus rendering any subsequent court order void:

centurydemo-overall.jpg

My one photo of the Century Building, from Flickr:

8214445815_aea58073cd_c.jpg

By clicked the above link, you can read about the Century Building's sad demise and the author's thoughts on a few things, such as downtown urban plazas. The site also contains valuable photos for BATers.

St. Louis has a number of other interesting buildings that I'd like to see BATs made of, such as the Old Post Office and Union Station, as well as other historic downtown buildings.

Still patiently waiting for some British style Georgian-Victorian terraced housing. My SC4 playing is sort of on hold until I can start making a realistic 1900s British city. Doesn't quite look right with the fantastic Dutch works of haarlemergold and Vanderaap.

Anyone up to the job. I have put some examples on page 19 of London and Bristol terraces. Many thanks and Merry Christmas to all! :)

BRISTOL - Sir Humphry Davy's House, Dowry Square

Dear all European/British BATters:

P1140054.jpg

Description:

Sir Humphry Davy was an English chemist and inventor. He is probably best remembered today for his discoveries of several alkali and alkaline earth metals, as well as contributions to the discoveries of the elemental nature of chlorine and iodine.

He lived in 10 Dowry Square, in the Hotwells area of Bristol during his time at the Pneumatic Institution for investigating the medical powers of factitious airs and gases. The house is Georgian in style but its slightly quirky appearance, in turquoise blue and partially covered in Wisteria, makes it stand out from the rest of the buildings that form this delightful residential square.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

To fulfil more than my own request, this is just one example of many types of British townhouses from the Georgian era, of which there is a considerable lack on the STEX, in comparison to the fantastic works from the Netherlands, France, Germany and Poland.

BRISTOL - Queen Anne House, Queen Square

Dear all European/British BATters:

P1140291.jpg

P11104101.jpg

Description:

Queen Anne House is one of the newer buildings in Queen Square, Bristol in what is otherwise a Georgian square. This side of the square was badly damaged by riots and fire so this replacement building was constructed in its place during the 1800s in typical Bath sandstone rather than the more prevalent red brick that comprises the majority of other Georgian buildings in the area.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

To fulfil more than my own request, this is just one example of many types of British townhouses from the Georgian era, of which there is a considerable lack on the STEX, in comparison to the fantastic works from the Netherlands, France, Germany and Poland.

BRISTOL - Central Library & Abbey Gatehouse

Dear all European/British BATters:

P12001351.jpg

Description:

Bristol Central Library is a historic building on the south side of College Green near the centre of the city. The adjoining gatehouse dates back to the 16th century but this is not the original work and was majorly refurbished during the 19th century, perhaps creating a more ornate appearance than the original construction.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

This would be a fantastic edition to almost any type of city as a civic building, either as a library, maybe a courthouse or perhaps a building with jobs. The gatehouse would make a great entrance to a historic street or part of a W2W series in a historic city, such as the one I am trying to make with as many British-resemblent buildings as possible.

The Rotunda (University Of Virginia)

UVA_120619_1425x283.jpg

Description:

The University of Virginia's iconic dome located on The Lawn in the original grounds of UVA. It was built between 1822-1826, designed by Thomas Jefferson, stands 77 ft (23.5 m) tall, and is modeled after The Parthenon in Rome.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rotunda_(University_of_Virginia)

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

The Rotunda has been described by many as one of the proudest achievements of architecture in the United States. Combined with Jefferson's nearby home of Monticello, it is one of only three World Heritage Sites in the country protected by UNESCO. It's civic value would be worthy of many cities and serves as a monument to American architecture, education, and the legacy of Thomas Jefferson.
