Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts)

I can't find a 800x600 image look here.

Description: (Bold)

This the Palace of Fine Arts, the most important of the theaters and art museums in Mexico, located on Mexico City.

For more Info

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: (Bold)

Because:

1. There are lots of mexican landmarks that are not featured, and this is one of the most important.

2. It's Art Deco style can make it fit on nearly every city and style.

Mithrik, Mithril with a k instead of a l, how original, huh?

HOTEL "MOSKVA" (Belgrade, Serbia)

Hotel_moskva.jpg

Description:

One of the oldest hotels in Balkains, famous of its architecture, history and cousine. Further details you can read here: Wikiarticle

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

I think it's very beautiful, and could be a very interesting spot in SimCity landmarks, or it could be a part of commercial luxury hotels.

Watergate Complex

WatergateComplex.jpg

Description: Not the best image I could scoop up, but the Watergate Complex is most famous for the Watergate Scandal. The complex features office space, apartments, and a hotel.

Write a short description of what you're requesting. (I think it would be nice to have a functioning landmark. I am not sure if it is possible to have both a R$ and C$ lot, but if not maybe it can be done in separate pieces one for residential and one for commercial.

Google Maps of Watergate -some great photos here

More photos

Wikipedia Page

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: (Bold)

I think it would be good for the game because it is a very great looking building and with the right lighting would look very nice and could provide a lot of residents and or jobs. Plus it is a good piece of history. I think a BAT project of buildings in Washington DC would be great, but I do not know how to make buildings. Back to Watergate though I think it would look fantastic and be useful.

I did not want to double post and added the Wikipedia page

Why would this be beneficial to ST?

Because the STEX lacks in buildings from Fresno.

I have been asking for this one for a long time, I guess the right person to BAT this should be Debussyman, I have asked him but he hasn't replied, you may try PM him asking about this. I may give it a go in a distant future as I don't think my current BATing skills are up to the job...(currently I am doing UNAM library and rectoria tower, you can check my BATing thread...

LA City Hall & Court House

738px-LosAngelesCityHall1931.jpg

city-hall-los-angeles-california.jpg56629946dywkWf_ph.jpg

courthouse:

los_angeles_city_hall.jpg

the los angeles city hall and the courthouse. i intentionally use old images of the building to present full view of the whole building. there are many hi-res recent photos including close ups and details.

I really love this type of art deco used in the building compound. there's never enough art deco online

link: http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=6044

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: These Buildings can be alternatives (if not replacement) to the maxis city hall and court house. they are also very beautiful. in modern cities, they can be a focal point or just break the monotonousness. in classic cities they will fit very well.

Chicago WTC

wtc4.jpg

bdcwtc.jpg

The Chicago World Trade Center was a proposed 2500 feet (762 m) supertall skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. It would have had 210 floors and it was also to look like the actual World Trade Center that was destroyed on September 11, 2001. The building was designed in 1982 by Harry Weesefor Stanley Raskow Sr.. However, the design was never built.

A shorter, 181 floor, 2,300-foot (700 m) building by the same name was proposed that same year, but like the other proposal, it was also cancelled.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_World_Trade_Center

http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=3695

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: When creating a megapolitan area, we really could use mega-buildings as a focal point especially in the zoned business area. this magnificent building will do just that. Creating existing buildings makes the game more realistic. But what can make the game even more fun is to "realize the broken dreams" of un-built projects. there are so many cool un-built buildings out there and the chicago WTC is one of the coolest. and being a fantasy building batters can really put their own aesthetic and signature design preference into CWTC.

Two Suggestions:

Terminal Tower in Cleveland:

terminal-tower-cleveland-ohio.jpg

This majestic tower is one the coolest old skyscrapers in the USA. It also was the tallest outside new york for a long time.

More Info/Pictures: http://www.emporis.c...leveland-oh-usa

Why it would be beneficial: It would a great addition to the collection of skyscrapers in the stex because it would be one of the only really big old towers on there and it would be a wonderful focal point for any downtown.

And number 2:

Travelers Tower,Hartford

travelers-tower-from.jpg

Beautiful old tower with beacon on the top. Held a few records in the past

More Info/Photos:http://www.emporis.com/application/?nav=building&id=travenuelerstower-hartford-ct-usa

Why it would be good: Old towers are sorta neglected in the stex. Great building for downtowns and it would have great nightlights.

Another

Why it would be benefical to the STEX

Because they are realistic and can make an american-style highway look better.

Seaports for diagonal coasts

Singapore%E2%80%8E.JPG

This is the Port of Singapore. There are many angle changes as the port wraps around the coastline.

A seaport lot or series of lots to build a customizable seaport on a diagonal coastline.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_of_Singapore

This would add a new level of realism to SC4 and you can maitain a natural looking shoreline and eliminate excesive terraforming.

Super Target

3062453902_8a1f7b8908_z.jpg

^ This particular one is in Charlotte, (it is really difficult to find more views) :(

Description:

I believe paeng did a Target store awhile ago. BUT, the BAT is a 'general merchandise' store. The Super Target is a store like a Walmart Supercenter (with grocery)

http://en.wikipedia....ion#SuperTarget

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

It would be nice to have a Super Target, because it really does make your -new- suburban areas, or areas around Highways, look way more realistic, and It's always nice to have more 'big box' stores to ruin your cities economy (joking) :P

NEW Walmart SuperCenter. (A more green version)

Here is several renderings:

WP-Partners-Walmart-Concept-2.jpg

project_img.jpgwalmart_store.jpg

banner.jpg

5308674996_537192bb4b_z.jpg

Description:

This is 2011. Most people are still stuck in 2005 with their -old design- (pre-2008) walmart stores. But, starting in 2008, all new locations have looked (somewhat) like this. Green design, including LED lighting and sky-lights and solar panels on the roof.

(I know that many of the locations I've been to have had Subway or McDonald's located inside)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wal-Mart

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

Like I said, this is 2011. People like new! I have nothing against baco, Heblem, and creator's Walmart Supercenters, but they are just out-dated. We need a MAJOR update of our BATs!!! :D (:

one question, does anyone read this and make any of these?

in most cases no, but some people do, I guess it's a little bit like winning the lottery so you never know but I think more importantly by posting here you can be re-directed to people that may be interested in creating what you want or that are already working on that project and sometimes the request already exists as a BAT...

A Shaduf [Ancient Egyptian Water Source]

shaduf.gif

Description:

A Shaduf was used in ancient times as a way to get water from nearby rivers into the irrigation system used by the Ancient Egyptians.

Shaduf -- Britannica

Shadoof [same thing, slightly different Spelling] -- Wikipedia

It should require access to the a local body of water, like a river or a lake, and be considered a water utility

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

There are people looking to build realistic styled ancient civilizations, or at least realistic enough regions/cities based on ancient civilizations. This would be one of those contributing items. =D

Two requests:

One would be Swedish or Norwegian wooden homes, to provide a bit more diversity to the R$ housing in-game.

The other, much much more specific request, would be if someone could make an icelandic turf house.

A photo:

3387-turf-houses.jpg

And a link to the wikipedia page.

I think these would be a great addition to rural farming areas.
