I haven't had any time to work on The Austonian lately. I'm hoping I'll get some time in this upcoming week. I should have pics of progression by the end of the week. Note: Just letting anyone who cares know I'm still here, just been busy lately.

Omg Xyloxadoria, thank you sooo much. I searched Austonian Floor plan before and it returned no results. That is simply amazing, exactly what I needed. Will definitely speed up my progress. Harishna: I was pretty much going to do the windows like the BAT Essentials Tutorial by Phillipbo, to a point anyway. I'll have to check out SimFox's. It was about six hours on the bottom section for the splines, I exaggerated a little. Stage one took me about eight. I'm too tedious to go quick. I have a large notepad that I didn't quite fill in my classes I'm using to write down everything. Also after learning about splines I found out I can do the windows on a single editable poly, but when I made stage 1 it isn't as precise as I'd like it to be.

When I eventually learn I plan on doing as many Texas buildings as I have time for. I was almost about to give up on the Austonian and do 360 Condos in Austin, it would be a lot easier to do. But I decided to stick to it, the building is beautiful. Another issue I'm, having with doing splines is, on the second part of the building with all the blue windows,I'm not quite sure how to do that part. I'm assuming I'll use arc and extrude it, and then cut into it for the windows I guess?

So I had wanted to start BATting quite some time ago. So I watched a tutorial on SC4D and this was stage 1. I tried to cut out holes for windows with the Boolean/operand B tool but it kept destroying my shape and it just wasn't working. So I did some more reading and I did the BAT Essentials tutorial (Phillipbo's) a few times so I can learn splines and I started over. This is my spline result after 6 hours or so. As this is my first time I'm a bit slow. Anyway today after finishing 1/3 the frame on the left side I realized I'm terrible at BATting. Which is why I started this thread: Question thread about stuff I need answers for. Anyway this is the building I'm trying to do. The Austonian, in Austin TX. Thank you in advance for comments/suggestions/help.

I started in 3DS Max a couple weeks ago and I'm terrible, I see his work and I'm just in awe at how amazing his buildings are. For the most part it keeps me from quitting and doing other things.

Could you fix the lighting on the large Central Facility please? Frustrating having all of my large CAM buildings light up and not this one.

The Austonian. Austin, Texas Description: The Austonian is a residential skyscraper in Downtown Austin, Texas. At 683 feet (208 m) tall with 56 floors, the building is the tallest in Austin, overtaking the 360 Condominiums. The tower is also the tallest all-residential building in the state of Texas and Texas' tallest building outside of Houston or Dallas. Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: It would give a note of originality to our cities. It would grace our cities with sheer beauty. See also Austin City Night Skyline
