East Tenne: Something Fishy

Admiral Hestorb showed the way to the greatest fishing grounds ever found in Schulmania. Tuna, Salmon, Sardines... all abounding in great multitudes. The Fancy Feast canneries will soon be overflowing with this great bounty. Her many captains have explored the coastline and moved into the western interior. What appeared to be small islands instead seem to be land in the delta of a large river. The river seems to be the breeding grounds for the fish, many of whom swim upstream to spawn.

To facilitate the surge in new fishermen (fishercats?), a cluster of fishing villages has sprouted up along the coast and in the delta. There have been two rivers discovered thus far along the western coast, but the southern one has the largest delta. Government analysts believe that the fish catch of Schulmania will increase by nearly 200% thanks to these new fish camps. The fish camps are, as of yet, unnamed, but there is one port serving to connect them with Schulmania - Knoxvegas. The small outpost of Knoxvegas has already eclipsed the fishing port of Wanda (on Schulmanicus) and could very well grow into a massive port city, in time.

Let's see the fishing villages as they are in the river delta.

The port of Knoxvegas, named by FCapt Erich von Bremerhaven, who noted the lack of K, V and X in Schulminion city names, is the only true town in the west at this point. The small town serves mainly as a exporting center for the fish products as well as a commerce site for those working in the fish camps. It's a small town but built nicely on its island. It has some features reminiscent of Gran Maru, which is just over the horizon to the east.

Fish is always on the menu at Knoxvegas' only restaurant - Smilin' Joe Fishin's - where every meal comes with a complimentary side order of hospitality.

Shops and processing facilities flank the Administration Building, which serves as the governmental center for Tenne until a capital can be built.

These seafood processing centers will vastly increase fish consumption across Schulmania - much to the delight of many feline citizens' tummies.

And, don't forget to stop by West Town, where many fine wares are available for a good price - often at or near wholesale.

Could this be the next regional capital city?

Does this salmon and sardine center have the same moxie as Wirt and Georgehampton and E. St. Paul?

Will the Turkey Creek Market (shown above, with outdoor vendor stalls on the plaza) become a major commercial destination?

We will see if Knoxvegas can grow to dominate its region.

Great update. An unexpected turn of events too..and by the way, the scene of the fishing villages at the river delta are very pretty! Well done. Serene looking. And I haven't heard of Fleet Captain Erich Von Bremerhaven for a while..so, glad to see he is exercising his influence. After all, the other Fleet Captain..or is he a Rear Admiral by now, Splunt, has been heard from recently.

Joetropian1 Glad to see you back, JT1! That could indeed become a problem. And you are quite correct - it is a cross of Knoxville & Las Vegas. Why? Knoxville has a few nicknames.... K-town, Knoxburg, Knoxvegas... so I went for the more interesting one. It's in East Tenne, so it has to be something from East Tennessee.

Explodingsims East Tenne will provide the fodder for many a can of Fancy Feast. It will certainly eclipse the fishing villages in more established areas. It remains to be seen how those towns will survive with this new competition. As for new games, my new computer is my brother's old computer, which was still 5x better than my old computer. Soooooo, no steroids in this one... but, I may run an extension cord down to the street and see if it can buy some!
