Odd... I looked on page 26, and found no update. Did the post bugs eat it?

Edit: Oh, and uhh... welcome to page 26. 3.gif

    South Wirdleonia: Bienvenidos a Hestorbia!

A massive public works project has been underway in the far southern reaches of Wirdleonia. The Plains of Wirdleonia, the largest landform in Schulmania, are fairly devoid of bodies of water. So, to avoid the threat of drought, it was decided to extend the Carmelcciase aqueduct system to a low area to the south, Urabuss Hollow, and pump excess spring water there to have a backup supply of water.

    h11.jpg

The depression was soon filled with water, which will be a most valuable resource in furthering development. Urabuss Hollow became Urabuss Lake. A new town soon sprang up along the shores of Schulmania's first artificial lake. The town was named for one of Schulmania's most enduring and endearing navigators, Admiral Hestorb.

    ah0001.jpg

The new town is designed to feature a bold new shift in architecture. Some buildings in the south have been created in a similar style before, but this new town plan features a radical departure from recent town designs. It has as its influence New Atkinos and Schulmanidad, but this new class of buildings, now called "Southern" style, takes Schulmania's architecture truly south of the border.

Let's examine this new, vibrant town and its distinctive look. Perhaps it will mark the beginning of many towns with this style. We will follow the path of the aqueduct in this update.

    h1.jpg

The aqueduct carries fresh water past the pastel buildings to the lake. A great place to see the aqueduct, and the town, is from the rooftop terrace of the Admiral Hotel (at right).

    h9.jpg

As it enters town, the aqueduct passes right by Rancho de Más Comida, the vacation home of Admiral Hestorb. The horses are a gift from Jacqulina Paradise, one of the Admiral's closest friends, who also is an equine expert.

    h15.jpg

The aqueduct's first level is used only sparingly, as a platform for the semi-annual Watermelon Drop. The winner makes the biggest splat.

    h3.jpg

The aqueduct goes right behind the town church, Our Lady of the Shedding Fur.

    h33.jpg

It has been suggested to use the aqueduct as a waterslide when it gets hot. We'll let you know if the idea is approved by city officials.

    h29.jpg

Soon after it passes by the church, the aqueduct ends at the lake.

    h28.jpg

End of the aqueduct and the tall pumping station.

    h24.jpg

End of the line and Urabuss Lake.

    h37.jpg

Water is then spilled into Urabuss Lake, where it is stored until needed.

    h38.jpg

It is a large lake - estimates are that it will have 2.5 times the water volume of Lake George when it is filled.

In coming updates, we will enjoy the Fiesta de Hestorbia as we explore the new town. Hasta luego!

Holy cow..I mean cat! This is a super update and all different. A Latin theme. LOVE! The Admiral has an impressive vacation home. Considering all she and her mates went through to explore recently, I imagine she is in residence now at her vacation home. Wasn't that her in the picture above, relaxing with her fishing rod lying atop one of the viaducts looking for ...um...what kind of fish is in those waters?

That is a very nice update! I've always thought the aqueducts look cool, and the Latin buildings are definitely a nice touch. Is it possible to swim in Lake Urabuss? If so, it looks like a nice, cool place to take a dip on a hot, southern day!

I like it. It seems like it would be warm around there year round...It seems like some citizens will need to be hairless...

I wonder also what the town's name is.

Bwahaha!  Awesome.  I, too, believe that aqueducts (archs) are a great method with which to fill lakes.  Tears seem so, I don't know, heartbreaking and tiring...

KingTitan For the King's reply.... Thank you, thank you verra much. Lol.

Hester Yes, indeed, she is due a vacation. I am not sure what type of fish she was catching in the file photo. Perhaps pan seared catfish stuffed with catnip in a butter reduction, served on a bed of steamed catnip au gratin?

panthersimcity4 The Admiral is indeed a lady of shedding fur, too. Trust me.

NMUSpidey Lake Urabuss is a perfect place for a swim. As a matter of fact, I am trying to decide if the town on the south shore should be a resort town like Risa Beach or more of a farm/ranch town.

Shingure The lovely town of Hestorbia is warm year round, but only longhaired residents are uncomfortable. Most cats like it hot. The longhaired residents get combed a lot to thin the coats.

PhatHead Funny you should mention that. I am planning to soon offer some positions for Schulmania employment to generate content for the webpage. So, all interested parties, dust off your resumes.

anarchy0029 Gracias mil veces. I am glad you liked the intro to Hestorbia.

Gn_leugim Obrigado meu amigo. Você é muito amável. (I hope that's right!)

Jacqulina Thanks, J. Did you see you were in this one?

Benedict Thanks. I like the way it worked in this city as well.

Smarty218 Good news! One of the three candidates for mayor has come out in FAVOR of the aqueduct waterslide. The other two couldn't care less. Be sure to remember that in the election.

NMUSpidey Thanks. And, true. Though any wells not filled with spring water will be filled with cat spit. So, um,... be glad it rained today!

    Gn_leugim Yep! 9.gif

    Leech10 That she is!

Nihonkaranws Thanks. I am glad you like it. I got it off the STEX... it's Frogface's Aqueduct.

Dfnva Gracias, mi amigo. The aqueduct is a nice addition to the town.

Twenty20 Merci beaucoup! I am pleased that you liked the update. More of Hestorbia is coming up soon.

Explodingsims Thanks. It's a nice new town. And quite different for Schulmania.

Rancho de Más Comida...that's pretty good.

Hestorbia is looking great, as far as I know it's your first use of that kind of building style and it is quite well done! I vote yes on the aquaduct/waterslide.

    No more cat urp!

And I vote for farming town (since my current update is a resort town2.gif).  But then again, the more resort towns, the better, eh?

I have a question, how does a nation population by creatures who speak only English and Cat get a Spainish Name for a town?

    Just a thought...

    Encyclopedia Brown Spotted the problem!

They have no internet! They are merely cats! Not Lolcats!

    Actually, Medieval/Renaissance cats at that!
