Hey ComputerGuy, thanks for using my old NYBT One Brooklyn Bridge Plaza in that pic. I was simcity4fan12 BTW. Never thought I'd actually see a building like that of mine in a pic. 3.gif Great city!

I don't think it's a requirement to post a pic, it just gives us something to look at. 2.gif

It maybe possible that the city was lost and pics are not available.

I believe a visit to Urban Dictonary is in order.

I believe it, as 173,000 isnt too hard. If it were something like several million I'd be skeptical as that is a little harder to get.

Very large, and unfinished. About 5 million inhabitiants (but almost all empty tiles will become an endless sprawling suburb....)

Largest on 1 tile-

Megatropolis

1,186,635

citymegatropolis.jpg

No cheat/hacks, just straight up city building.

Of course this city is spread over multiple tiles, which, if combined would be over 3 million.

Mine would be Junnepton, the population within is only 270,000.

I might post an image later.

Nice!

This picture is basically a big blob of skyscrapers:

buildings.jpg

and there's this:

city1no.jpg

NOTE: Very Unrealistic!!! Since the demand was so high, I put down some large density squares, and volia! Skyscrapers! I only did this because nothing would grow in the low density lots that I would make... and it turned out to be almost a million sims! (I don't have the exact amount, I deleted the city, sorry!)

Well this is obviously a joke, my largest city ever was destroyed when my SimCity glitched a few months ago. 17.gif

Sorry to bump this thread but...

jeffersonmar62912872597.png

This is Jefferson, Gorea. The capital of said country has room to grow, both up and out. I could easily take the island and make high rises. This was the tile in which Big City Tutorial was located, but I destroyed the tile and put  Jefferson there. And the zone map:

jeffersonmar82912872598.png

I could zone the Medium Density stuff into High Density and convert the Industrial Area into Residential and Commercial. The area with the airport will be reserved for the International Airport, the blank area is the university and Soccer Stadium and the Low Density area is there for story reasons.

scaled.php?server=843&filename=timbuktu1

There's the population, almost 300,000 residents, about 140,000 commercial jobs and 5,000 Industry jobs crammed into a medium tile. The mods used were NAM, Radical Ordinances and the medieval walls pack(story reasons).

Cool cities everyone!
Anyways, my biggest was a twin cities sort of deal. New Hampton Bay had about 400,000, and Lakewood had about 450,000. I destroyed the buildings of Lakewood and expanded it into an all plop city that willexpand over like 9 or ten tiles. It's 6 or 7 tiles right now.

Awesome cities. My largest was around 160k, but that was a long time ago. I think I may just start a new one.

OK, I have my frist region-city, called Terra Megalopolis. It's all land (I'm not going to trust myself with wat yet, I'm wating for New Britain), and is currently at 1,104,634, with 6 medium and six small tiles encorporated into it.  Fortapet is my largest city in there, with 174K, 93K commercial and 40K Industrial jobs, but isn't in as good shape as New Wangerput with 150K. I'm using the aRtificial Tree, SkyFarm, Money TRee and PLopomatic mods, but WAngerput has gotten to 130 K, with no mods.

Alright, here goes: I started this region back between my first and second "CJs" that sucked, (about 3 years ago now, even though sometimes I wish it was longer. Oh, how I don't miss junior high 3.gif) and this city has been buried since about late '06 or so until I rediscovered it this weekend. Its population was 945,000 and its land area was only about 1/3 full so I thought, hey, I can work with this. After a couple hours of work I had nearly quintupled its size, surpassing my previous record of 1,002,000 by nearly 3,000,000 sims.It didn't have a name, so I figured I should rename it in honor of the creator of a simply magnificent region, Thanemontshire by Dusktrooper. Although my Thanemont looks like crap, it's the largest single city I have EVER built (and probably will ever build). Here goes! (that huge tan cluster on the west side of the city is about 60 R$$$ sky rise deluxe condos, the city to the west of it provides just over a million additional commercial jobs to the main city.

thanemont1290386956.png

I got a traffic map too if anyone's interested.

This is by no means my largest region ever; that honor goes to Coalington, my tribute to Mayor of Tempest Lake's Province of Coalianton. That region reached about 28 million, which wasn't really good for my compy so I retired it. Cool region though, it was the site of a bunch of my population records, including my first million on a large city tile and my first near-million on a medium tile (995,000).

But yeah, anyway, Dusktrooper if you're out there, this one's for you man!

Here's the traffic map, guys! Insanely griddy, I know, and I'm fixing the eastern half of the city which has 4x6 city blocks rather than the 6x6 standard throughout the rest of the region.

Josh6: it's really hard to keep this balanced, but the city to the left provides an additional million or so commercial jobs, and the city to the south provides about half a million each of both industrial and commercial. However, this is starting to mess with my RCI demand back in the main city.  I have more room to grow if I could sustain the development.

thanemont1290387029.png

I guarantee you I could never duplicate this if I tried 3.gif

Time for me 2.gif

This is my biggest so far. Metropolis. This is the fair view of the city.

nowyjork1290856057.png

and here you are the Transportation map.

nowyjork1290859719.png

And one more photo of the city from a close picture.

metropolis5cze321290857.png

As you can see on the pictures there is still some room for new residentials. I'm still downloading new buildings which are the only way to sustain 2.5mln job need.
