my biggest region, Yokio

mix between Tokyo and HK

i think of the whole region as one city and each "city" as a different district of the city

the largest "city" is Chiba District, also the downtown area

I have found a monster.

Old Volcano City:

Residential population: 272044 (!)

Commercial Population: 80443

Industrial Population: 16991

City Funds: 2491811

Image attached below, unless I did something wrong.

Now to go and build in a region that kinda resists such high populations.

And I too haven't built something as large in a while either.

My largest city, funny enough, wasn't built in any SimCity game. It was actually built in City Life. It had well over 1.5 million residents. I tried to create something similar in SC4 but only came up to 400k. Rest in peace Olympus Mons. 4.gif

Edit: Welcome to Page 6!

that may be because City Life waaay overrates populations.

300,000 on a medium city tile on hard, no cheats, no custom content - except NAM.  I'm not happy with the 8x8s since they don't develop quite right until high density though 15.gif

Demand is strong (Hight Tech is strong, dirty and manufacturing are huge negatives), but you see I'm having a hard time with traffic 15.gif

Here's a peek at my lame region and the numbers for commerce and industry (HT only) as well:

Back to the main city... Here are my zones:

Heres a traffic view:

Here's bus traffic:

Here's sub traffic:

Here's air pollution:

I still have several natural gas power plants in the NW and SW corners, so once I can afford a hydrogen plant air pollution might go down a little?

oh ok. So when you were talking about how big it was, it was a rhetorical question, right?

Anyway, more pictures please!

My biggest city, was only 210,000 people. It is in my CJ! (the current pop is 190k).

Here's my biggest city. It has 1,060,000 residents and 379,000 commercial jobs and is surrounded by industrial city tiles, that have a total of 172,000 jobs in. The main city and the two industrial cities to the north are on medium city tiles and there is a small industrial city tile to the south of the main city. I have a bunch of mods, including the NAM, but I didn't use any demand mods or the CAM to make this. It took me about two hours, so I know it is a huge eyesore, I was just trying to see how many people I could cram into 4 square miles.

Welcome to the forums Jhsi94. Looks like you did good cramming a bunch of people in a small area. I have no pics of a large city. I am constantly starting over because the map isn't exactly how I want it or I goof up the city and obliterate it. Still working on my issues of "perfection." LOL

My bigger one was my old region, Maroanestra, that goes over 150.000 habitants, it's the first time since I play the game that a region of mine goes upper 10.000 habs ! xD

Well, now I'm just around the 12.000 habs... :/

Great one, Io_bg, I like the blurred effect on the picture, it make it looking even more realistic !

I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.
