This is something old, never published before, I've changed the trees around the highway.

And now for something a little different. Window streets on each side of the highway.

Had to get somewhat creative with a few of my freeway exits.

@TalkingHead77: I like the nice creativity and I see you sneaked in a smooth curve there, but I think using regular MHW is very outdated, I think you can reinstall the NAM to add Project Symphony (which I'm sure you know, overrides MHW with new, RHW-like textures) as MHW is massively underscaled (to fit oversized cars) and to some builders here on ST, it's just ugly (not to say your work isn't quite ingenious, esp. with the parclo-esque interchange!) to see vanilla MHW when MHO/RHW are available. In all fairness, it's completely Maxis's fault LOL

Nice. I have done similar, and my time in Arizona showed me lots of uses for rural highways with frontage roads or access only from side roads. I read your linked description of "window road", but I'm not clear on the difference to frontage roads. Less access to the limited access road? The fancy view and view protection features?

...and to some builders here on ST, it's just ugly...

Probably to most, but others are fine with it. No need to start another discussion of scaling issues in the game. They are complex. MHWs still have their place in today's game.

That image looks pretty nice! You might try using FARHW pieces instead of those two 45-degree curves; as it is, the curve looks too jagged and it could be a lot smoother.

It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning to long to believe that the tides going to turn.

Success simply consists of getting up one more time than you fall.

Building a new SPUI (now Exit 12) for Highway 140 north of Redmund.

Yes, those are 2-level FLEXHeight transitions there if you're asking.

just rolled this highway out along the river, creating access to the industrial complex on the right. wastes plenty of prime real estate for sure, but it's a pleasant commute so the sims don't mind

Oh yes. (Does anybody know another, easier way to do this? I created an elevated highway and then edited the terrain with the Terraformer.)

If that's a diagonal bridge, then no, not at this time, although the NAM team may look into expanding the DBE support at some point in the future, looks good though.

One possibility exists, armed with v2 of my MHO Fix mod, you can use the Maxis Highway Override for the DBE now, although that's only good for RHW-4.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

it might work with the SetSeaLevel cheat.

"SetSeaLevel 0"

Drag RHW

Save and reload the maps

I suppose that would work, but the result wouldn't look like a bridge, I think. Just a bit of RHW floating in the air. It could work with elevated RHW, but that would require diagonal height transitions, and as far as I know, there are no such included in the RHW :(
