This lovely interchange is where the newly constructed IH-288 North Loop terminates at IH-75 in Illium City. Unfortunately, it cut out a large swath of the St. Augustine neighborhood. Also seen here is the remains of Forester Ave. The Forester Ave/IH-75 Interchange was demolished to make room for the IH-288 Loop interchange, so the forgotten avenue led to nowhere, leading to pretty extensive overgrowth. The land is up for bid and is zoned residential, but so far no contractors have picked it up.

Please excuse the zoning areas. I'm rebuilding Illium City from the ground up.

I have been working on some highways lately, mostly inspired by the German "Autobahnen". Here: A simple interchange in a rural area on one of the more busy parts of the highway, which is connecting major cities in my region. Enjoy!

Edit: I am sorry that I forgot to turn the grid off - fortunately it is not that distinct, is it? ;)

Oh wow.. cool walls, where did you get them?

They're not walls at all, just a base texture and I really don't know what it came with because I have so many plugins. But the Texture ID is 0xe9046000 fwiw. I just added RHW MedianBarrier prop to the bottom and a rail prop by Neko at the top. Oh, and I added some of Marten's signage and Lightage to some of them.

Nice job!

The RHW-8C looks great sunken because it fully covers 3 tiles. No bare grass or anything.

Thanks Hal. True about the grass - all except under the overpasses anyway. For that I ventured into my first foray of 3d modeling and managed some basic shapes to cover the grass there. I tried texturing it but I don't know what the heck I was doing .. so be it. :D

There's a way to find out. You need to open your selfmade lot with iLive Reader; then, on the left side, you need to click on the LD file. On the right side to the bottom, a list of files your lot requires should appear, just under the "Copy to Clipboard" button. Unless a lot of files appear there, it should be possible to find out which of the files contains the texture you are using, and this way it might be possible to find out which plugin/dependency contains this file.

Edit: Here's a screenshot.

Thanks for the info 11241036 - did not know that and will come in handy but I tested it and it seems to only work for props. It doesn't show where the texture is from.

As for uploading them - the stuff is all available already to anyone in the Lot Editor and is simple to put together. It would be different if it was difficult / extremely time-consuming to do or required my own props, models or textures. That's why I put the extra info about them there in the first place, a quick down and dirty without derailing this thread too much.

I mean look how fast and easy it is - 1:23 seconds and I was trying to go slow so everything can be taken in. Playing the game is actually more difficult.

A sunken highway I've been working on.

How did you get the 7.5m avenue to work over the 8-C? I can't get it to work when the highway is sunken.

Make sure you drag each side of the ave, then the middle - not just drag all the way through or it will screw things all up. Then drag the 8c through it after and you might have to use an 8c starter piece on both sides of the ave overpass.

I still call it Rural Highway in my mind's voice whenever I read the acronym.

You really made the Project Symphony Highway looking good, especially around the curves, where RHW usually looks horrible. Your waterfalls also look good and creative. But I don't get the point of this 270° avenue curve. Wouldn't it make more sense to make a simple 90° turn to the direction of the interchange at the right of the picture? This would both save you a lot of space and reduce commuter time.
