That's quite the skyscraper jungle, but it sure shows up nice at night!

Yeah, the skyscraper jungle was my intention when I built that city. ;-)

New city downtown I'm working on. I didn't name it properly yet :P
It's a mosaic in zoom 5.

Orchard Heights, a secondary mini-downtown in the city of Dresden.

@JP Schriefer That's an awesome looking downtown! I like how dense it gets at the top yet still it still doesn't come off as being too "crowded".
I guess the key is to use buildings of varying heights and of high quality. Coincidentally I happened to be looking for several of the buildings you used;

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you, I like to mix some art deco buildings with modern buildings in different heights, I think it has a good effect. I would also like to know about that white building in the left side of the mosaic, that's very peculiar and I would like to download it :D

Thanks for links! Reddonquixote & Darknono35... well now I can see why I like those buildings so much and it's a bit embarrassing to not have known that they were BAT's made by those two legends :P

Wish I could help with building but unfortunately it's only identified as TMB in the desc file and I relotted it because (IIRC) it was causing the game to crash. Couldn't find anything by that name on the exchange might of been removed because of that problem.

I've never seen that one... could it be from a Japanese site? Architecturally, I wouldn't be surprised if it was from Japan, either.

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Here's a screenshot of a massive commercial zone during an earlier stage of my city I'm working on. (It's not a downtown area, I'm building that soon.)

Looks okay so far. I would suggest using a slope mod, though. That would make your roads look a lot less bumpy and stuff.

Thanks for the tip.

This is downtown California City. Although it is one whole piece, the citizens of California City tend to divide downtown by Downtown West, Downtown Mid, and Downtown East. The reason for this is because Downtown West and Downtown Mid are separated by the ES-4 freeway and Downtown Mid and Downtown East are separated by the Junipero Serra River. I am finished with downtown, but I still need feedback to improve it so I can move on to the construction of the suburbs and industrial district.

I bet it looks great all lit up at night! :-)

What canal set did you use? I like the gate you have between the sea and the canal. Also, what is that tall blue-ish building in the top left area?

This is some nice downtown. What is that huge square building in the middle on the last black and white image?

For the canals, I used the BSC Brick Canal Set and the "blue-ish building" is the AIG Building. I just discovered I am using an older model of Cuckatoo's AIG Building so I will link you the most recent of his adaptations. I hope this helped you!
