Do these files from the OP link work? I downloaded the landmarks and buildings and opened them with the reader and they are full of junk. Mostly Ltext files and fsh files. I have been doing a lot of downloading since returning to SC4, but none of the files that I downloaded looked this messy. I am almost afraid to test them out in game for fear that it might crash or create a virus to my computer.

If I do end up testing, I'll cross my fingers and post back the results.

EDIT:  After making a backup copy and crossing my fingers, I tested the files from the OP site and they work!!!  I am relieved that my computer didnt crash and I am excited to use all these new landmarks and buildings in the game.  Thank you to the OP for posting this content!!!

This isn't actually an essential file......it is a collection of files that one of our admins has kindly stored on a server for our disposal. It's not essential unless it's a dependency in a lot, but you can download it anyways if you like.

I tested everything and it all seems fine.

FF is a bit wonky though. You have "open with" rather than "save file" or else it doesn't work. That is, if other people have the same experience I do.

Not sure what is not working. Yeld, what is it you are looking for exactly. The links at SC4D seem to be working fine (see Jim's post above). Just accept the Maxis agreement - no payment is required (nor can one be asked for).

Edit: Ah, Zel got in ahead of me. As he said, things seem to be ok... (I'm on FF 3.6.16)

Unless you are planning to create custom content, all you need is the two patches. You do not need the Lot Editor or the BAT programs.

Hey guys the old EA SIMCity 4 website seems to be no longer operational as I can no longer find it via search engine. And say you look for it via other EA Games' sites like for SIMCity Societies's site as these sites are (were) inter-connected (at the very bottom of each webpage has clickable links to other related games), if you click on the one that is supposed to re-direct you to SIMCity 4's site where these files were originally hosted all you'll get is a "page not found" notice so THANK GOD for Zelgadis & the staff over at SC4D for hosting these stuff I just wish every file was salvaged like the UDI City & the Transport pack.

Thank you a million times for hosting the original Maxis files! I stupidly never thought we would lose the simcity.ea.com website and never downloaded anything but the two main updates from that site. All the extra landmarks, rewards and even the BAT and Lot Editor are now a distant memory as far as EA goes. Like you said in your original post, I guess they knew the SimCity community had them all already and anyone really wanting them could find them here.

No. They are just data files, so they work anywhere. Because they are set up universally, you might have to manipulate them to get them properly installed. It just happens that the original poster uses MAC.

Just to let you know, MobileMe (Apple's file storage service) closed making the files impossible to get from that link. Someone fix this, please?
