Odainsaker: Ohhh... I remember it all right! And it looks absolutely beautiful in 3ds max! I really look forward to seeing more progress on this.

Glenni: Very neat building! And I'm glad you were able to salvage it.

That looks realistic than a picture, really. Also your choice is a great one, that building is one of my favorite in China, if not the world. To sum it all up: AMAZING!

hey guys, quick update on my latest project the Lincoln Heights Tower. Most basic modeling is complete, texturing still needs to be carried out as well as the modeling of the roof and nightlighting. Look out for its release to the stex in the near future.

I hope so too, it's just a case of getting it into gmax/3ds max without the model breaking :/

I really like how you venture into complex shapes, away from the banal box! And you do that pretty well. I do, however, believe that once you've captured form at macro level you should refine details and work on lighting and materials, as they clearly appear to be left behignd teh flight of your modeling skill and particularly your grasp of shape.

All-in-all the effort really worthy applauds!

Whoa! Clash of styles - interesting stuff! 4.gif Gotta love those windows...

Just one question: Is that one model, or is the modern building separate? Just asking because I figure some people might like either the old-fashioned one or the modern addition, but not the combination of both. Oh, and the windows on that modern part look decent, albeit not half as great as on the old part. I'm not sure if that's the final version... anyway, great job so far.

Well, it was supposed to be part of the whole model, but i see what you mean, i'll make it a seperate prop.

As for the windows, the old arche windows were supposed to be what's left of a part of the factory which has been abandoned, then torn down, but some of the front facade left, and completely renewed, a bit like the Berlin Reichstag, modern interior and windows, and only the old shell left.

I am doing a first attempt here. I may not release it in the stex. I have made a building so far in sketchup based on The Pad in Dubai. I thank Andisart for the link to help inspire me.

I know it's a bit crappy on the irregular floor levels, but I'll get use to it.

I agree that you overdid it with those people on the balconies - and with the loose boards lying around on the roof, as I might add. All in all, however, this is a superb collection that should be highly useful! 4.gif

Hi everybody!

After a lot of hesitation, I decide to participate to this thread hoping that you will help me, giving advices for my new bats.

I am working currently on an ambitious project (for me I mean) which I named "Brickell on the river" which is a Miami Building. This project is divided in three smaller projects:

- The North Tower

-The South tower

-The link between the two buildings which include parking cars and swimming pool.

Here is a Gmax pics of the south & North rendering view which give you an idea of what it will be.

P.S:I have no idea of how are the base floors (No way to get that with google earth...9.gif So, if somebody can PM pics, I'll be very thankfull
