Also the changing social structure of communities, the interrelationships between its members are hardly just the result of government action. Life changes and so do people along with it. You would be foolish to expect Hong Kong of 2007 bee the same as Hong Kong of 60 and 70s when most of those old communities that are now relocated to be the same. We are in a different place in time now. That's life.

Simfox, tell the people who are opposed to the relocation of the Queen's Pier. Those nasty under-aged students. Its not like the government is going to destroy the pier, they are relocating it so the reclamation project can proceed.

Well for those students it is the most natural behavior of their free hormones fueled minds! As saying goes those who havn't been revolutionary at 20 had no heart; those who remain revolutionary at 40 have no brains!

SimFox, looks like there are two camps to the Queens Pier issue. My parents and in general the older people are for the removal of the Queens Pier because the Pier is a reminder of British rule. My parents also said that Chinese people were not allowed to that Pier, and only the British were allowed to use it. Besides, the Queen's Pier is only 50 years old. The original pier looked so much more grandiose.

The other camp are the hissie-fits who have nothing to do. Too bad a typhoon didn't hit HK at the time of the protests, and swept those brats away :-P

Oh they are estates in the New Town Tin Shui Wai.

Actually there are 2 estates only.

They are separated by the gap, which has a footbridge connecting the open space.

The Left one in grey and green colour are towers of Tin Heng Estate.

The right one in blue are towers of Tin Chak Estate.

There are plenty new estates in Tin Shui Wai actually.

Pictures are definitely taken in Tin Shui Wai...

I suddenly figure out that Tin King Estate in Tuen Mun has the same pronounciation name as Tin King Estate in Tin Shui Wai...

But in Chinese, it's completely different.

Oh... I don't know how to explain...

Just let there be 2 Tin King Estates in Hong Kong...

HAha...

Bixel this is from the page. I hope this email is not too late.

I am looking at my trusted road map, and here's the following deduction.

The first pic, there is a KCR west rail line/mainland rail spur. Immediate to the right of the station (the one with the blue tinged roof is Tin Shui Wai station) is Tin Tsz Estate. Then there is a park in the middle of the pic. This is Tin Shui Wai Park. To the right of the park is Kingswood Villa.

The second pic (the one with the river in the front) may be difficult to explain. There is a pedestrian bridge over the river. To the left of the ped. bridge is Tin Heng Estate. To the right it is Tin Chak Estate. The orange buildings to the extreme right is Tin Yan Estate.

The third pic, toughie Bixel! Or maybe not. I am guessing its Chesswood Court. The foreground maybe Tin Shui Wai Park. Just by the looks of the building and the orientation, I can deduce that it is Chesswood Court.

Hope this helps. I will look at the other site very soon.

Villagemayor.

Tin Heng Estate is almost DONE!!, unfortuneatly only I will get to play with it, since my internets are down (Im at a cyber cafe). Simfox was suggesting that they seemed unfinished, and has some concerns over the concrete textures I am using. This next one is very similar to the Tin King style since it is practically the same floor pattern.

I have stayed true as much as I can to the photo reference and having seen these Public Housing Estates up close I know they look boring. However I am will to take on some new textures if anybody is offering.

BTW these building do not have foundations in any sense of the word of a facility like the private courts do. Their facilities are often separate buildings near by. I will be doing a very very HK style elementary school to compliment these Estates.

Ting Heng is 4 towers, and I am considering placing them on 2 lots since if it was on one NON-CAM lot it would not grow in SC4 since its projected occupancy is about 12,000. CAM may be 1 lot with occupancy of about 20,000.

These are not by any means real HK values, but values expected from simcityplayers. Considering that Tina's Tenemants is only 4x4 with 6000 odd sims, well why have a 5x12 lot of 12,000 sims when you can have 3 tinas (4x12) for 18,000?

anyhoo I am excited about these estates-- they look good when positioned correctly in the game.

Hope your internet connection will be restored soon. Just from the pics and the road map, the place doesn't look too bad to live. Its got lots of parks (something rare in HK). The only problem is that its so far from the city. I bet you spent the entire afternoon just to trek up there and look at the buildings.

Looking forward to your buildings!

Nice pics! Thanks for sharing. Yeah airbus flew around HK a few weeks ago, and made a big deal out of it. It must have been a spectacle for the office workers. Judging by the fourth pic, it must have been taken from one of the office towers in Central. If a visitor has no access to any office building in Central, an excellent vantage point would have been the 55th (I think) floor of the IFC2, the headquarters of the Hong Kong's Monetary organization. There is a museum there and I am sure visitors got a real treat there.
