I think I know the name of the building that you are asking. I used to pass by this building ALL the time on my way back to my grandfather's place via mini bus. I did some sleuthing, and I am 80% sure its call Shanghai Commercial Bank building. I have a road map that identifies all of the major buildings in HK. Unfortunately its in Chinese, but the translation is what I just mentioned. The symbols (for those who don't know) is the Shanghai Commercial Bank. The building is located on the northeast corner of Argyle St. and Nathan Rd., on top of Mong Kok subway station. This intersection is one of THE busiest in all of HK. NEVER, EVER, venture in this intersection on the weekend, noon. It is hell, especially for those who (like me) live in sprawling subdivisions.

Excellent. Well I went ahead and BATted it last night. LOL I will have to rerender it with the C embedded in the S & B..if mistook it for a circle. I need to rerender it anyway I forgot to set the nightlites to green.

yeah and you fascade is pretty far off your vertical white bands should be thinner and recessed and you have no observation gallery recessed between the two SB signs. also where are the overhangs above the SB signs and in fact all the way round the edge at the top....furthermore your entrance is totally different. apart from the above glaring difference in shape its not quite your usual standard bixel i just you would want to know....

It looks very real except it is a bit taller in real life i think or it is just thinner in real life but apart from that looks very nice

My god how can you bat that quickly. I replied to your question last night at 9pm, and its 3pm the next day. Don't you have to sleep, or go to school or work? Just a little comment. Great building, the right colour and stuff. But it seem too flat or bulky. Maybe make it taller. Also, the ad on the mechanical penthouse just don't cut it. Google Shanghai Commercial Bank and you should be able to get a logo.

Nah I actually BATted in about 5 hours and before I posted the pic. And yeah I didn't realize how squat (short) my building was until i posted the SC4 views here. ooops. You guys are totally right I counted the floors about 20-23..maybe it should be thinner. But anyway it will be a "inspired by" release cause i do not want to make it any taller. I am going to make about 4-5 more of these midrise HK CS$-$$-$$$. And then release them as a pack of growables and functional plops. Its a 3x3 now...i will change it into a 3x2.

Excellent BAT... not a good recreation though, like the others have said... Although I'd prefer a more accurate narrow version... I'd still download and use this one. The glass textures look great. So, are you going to redo it accurately (by all means keep this version, it's great on its own)?

P.S. Why is this one not in your BAT thread?

OK don't bash Bixel. I think Bixel based the recreation on that one pic. And duh should use google map to look at the building footprint :-) When that building pops up in my city, I'll pretend its not the real thing. One comment Bixel: The green glass should not go all the way down to the street level. Looking at the first floor it should have a grey limestone or marble facade, much like typical banks in HK. Just an observation.

Ok so this is what I will do. I will change the SB to BXL hahahahahhaha and then its based off of the Shanghai Commercial Bank and not a direct representation.

I agree that it would be a pity to lose that BAT. I like it the way it is, no matter if it is a recreation or not.

You can leave the SCB - it is a very useful abbreviation. Those who like that realistic feel can interpret it as Shanghai Commercial Bank, others can use it as SimCIty Bank or SimCIty Business Center, or simply as Shiny Colourful Building. BXL is harder to use that way.

If you insist on those huge advertisement signs, why not make them separate props? This would allow people who are not into that kind of thing to quickly edit the lot and throw them out. Not to mention that if you made three or four, I could mod them to appear randomly, whereas a one-block BAT including the signs would be static.

"Fortune" Tower (u/c), Dubai yesterday on fire

4 workers died, more than 50 are injured.

Electrical failure caused the fire.

I just wonder what could burn so much in, basically barren, concrete structure(there on the top) to produce soo much smoke?

Black smoke is mostly a result of burning plastics like wrapping foils, insulating material, electric wires and plastic pipes.

The fire broke out at level 8.

I guess, this structure (especially the top levels without cladding) workls like a chimney.

The workers were trapped inside, they had tried to destroy the glassy cladding/windows.

What a horror.

One worker had tried to climb down at the fascade and then he has fallen to death.

He said, the subcontractor is from Manila and a lot of them don't care really about safety issues.
