In France, every town that didn't receive a town charter, or that is part of a communal arrondissement (city quarter) of one of the three largest cities in the country – Paris, Marseille and Lyon – has a "Mairie" (Mayor's Office). It's not just the place where the Mayor resides, but also houses the town council and other communal facilities. Quite often, you'll find a "Mairie-École" in rural villages that also combine a school under the same roof.
The model in this download was designed after the former Mairie in Argenteuil, a suburb of Paris. The main differences are the omission of the lateral annexes, the reduced building depth, and the addition of a weather vane instead of the ridge turret. In the game, it appears as a reward lot. The lot contains two seasonal horse chestnut trees, which are only visible after the first seasonal change. There is also a fountain, that splashes, however, all year round. ;-)
