About This File

!!! Due to the difference of the game version between Mac & Windows, this map WILL NOT WORK & APPEAR BLANK on Windows machine.

As stated in the title, this is just a single medium-sized tile for the default New York region that is ready to play with some railway networks and scenery that I made as you can see in the pictures.

Although there are some flat areas around the corner, the hills will give you some challenges in building your town. You can navigate your way by following the slope when building your infrastructure, or you can bend them to your knees by flattening them all. It's up to you, you're the mayor!

Before You Download

This is a replacement for the "City - New City (24).sc4" file in the default Maxis New York region, so if you already built your city on that tile, you'll have to move your city file to somewhere else or delete in order to use this tile.
⚠️ I strongly suggest you back up your city first before deleting anything, just so you won't regret it later if it turns out you don't like to play this tile.

How to Use

  1. Download the file & all the dependencies listed below
  2. Unzip the file and you'll have a folder with a "City - Riau.sc4" file inside it.
  3. Move the file into your New York region (Documents > SimCity 4 > Regions > New York).
This is a replacement for the "City - New City (24).sc4" file, so you need to delete that 'City - New City (24).sc4' file inside the New York folder. Or, if you already built your city on that tile, you need to move it somewhere else.
  4. Rename the city & mayor's name using these cheat codes:
    hellomynameis YOUR_MAYOR_NAME
    whererufrom YOUR_CITY_NAME

Dependencies
I know this is a long list, but it's totally worth it to get all of these items (especially the trees) because they're very useful to improve the aesthetics of your city. You might want to have them even if you're not using this tile.

Notes

  • If you find this tile a little bit laggy when you open it, delete some of the trees using the bulldoze tools until it's all smooth again. I might add another version with fewer trees in the future, but for now, you need to delete them yourself.
