About This File

Description: The Nurses' Monument is a fictional green marble statue dedicated to the nurses of the pandemic.  This is a sort of sequel to the Medical Researchers' Monument, but partly inspired by - yet not a recreation of - a cartoon by artist Bozorghmehr Mosseinpour about the pandemic.

In the monument version, a nurse carries her patient from the danger while being exposed to it herself, represented by the serpent, which she is battling with a weapon.  She faces a headwind as her hair is flung behind her.  The lot flanks her with eucalyptus to represent healing and amaryllis to represent hard fought victories protecting and caring for patients.

Hello,

The nurse monument is really throwing me for loop. I can not get the statue and base to show. I redownloaded and reinstalled Mattb325_PropPack_Vol04.dat file first, but still having problems. Every time I change load order, some new file is overriding the LD, whatever that is?

The last try in Data Node is as low it can load before the dat files. I don't know what to do from here. Could there be an other dependency I don't have?

Thanks for the feedback.  I’m not sure.  The only prop I used that wasn’t Maxis was that eucalyptus tree, and that appears while the model doesn’t....I will need to give this some thought and get back to you

OK, that gives me a few ideas to try with the maxis files. It may been my doing. I'll know a little later on if so. Don't worry about yet. Sorry in advance if that's the case.*:)

Its all good, practice you could say. After looking in my plugin folder, I have the file I thought I may have removed (Plugin_B90_ResidentialBuildings_Prop_Modd.dat). And the other test didn't work either, putting back the bldgprop_vol1.dat and bldgprop_vol2.dat files. So IDK again.

Digging into a field of Data Node I don't know and barely gone into, I found all the S3D's are missing. All the same starting group description of 5AD0E817-6C96CEE8-00490***. I remember reading that the same group means, umm, something like what I'm missing is all together. (not sure really what it means??)

Hope this helps you help me.

Update: I am going to ask in "Can't find it" tread to get some ideas, help and or more education.

Thanks. I also see the NBVC container file which I don’t have.  Does that interfere with something?

Not sure. I changed locations a few times and some new file would override the LD file. What is a LD file?

Hi there!

@20huskies
The issue is realatively simple. You created the lot with an older version of the model. If you check the TGI (Type-Group-Instance) number of the model, the Instance number says 0x004A0000 (it's in the name also), while if you check your lot file in reader and in the building examplar (which holds the general data, like plop cost etc) you will find the Resource Type Key 1 property (that will tell you the TGI of the model what was used to build the building examplar up for the lot), which will show you, that the building examplar based on a model which Instance number is 0x00490000. This building examplar has different values, like plop cost for 110000, instead of your listed 3700.

In your upload however an other *.desc file (which contains the building examplar) can be found with the proper Resource Type Key and with your choosen values (what you listed above), but the lot is not based on this building. The fix would be easy until this point, because in reader you could just swap the two building examplar (delete the old one from the lot and replace it with the new one from the *.desc file), but the new desc file has also a different TGI number.

And also I just realized that somehow the LOT Config examplar (the other examplar type property in reader if you open your lot and this contains the IIDs of the used textures, props but most importantly the building itself) of your lot is missing the lot config building property randomly, which would link the building examplar to the lot (however the representative rectangle is present on the lot). Yepp, something wierd is going on with that.

So what you can do:

Delete all instances, but DO NOT delete the model file itself. Delete the *.desc file and *.sc4lot file, but keep the model file. Start the process again. I think you've used Maxis PIM (plugin manager), while most of the time the newer SC4 PIM or X-Tool would be actually better. You can do the same stuffs, plus it has an inbuild lot editor as well, also fixes some of the issues with Maxis PIM. Anyway.

So start again. Make the building examplar, edit the values while you are in PIM etc... (I didn't really use Maxis PIM to I have my own methods for this with PIM-X which is way easier for stuff like this), but at the end you should have a LOT file, which contains both the proper building examplar and proper lot config examplar and a model file. The additional *.desc file what was made by the Maxis PIM, you can delete it.

One important thing: when make a plopable lot, like station, or park or landmark, you don't need to keep the *.desc file (created by maxis pim or the *._loosedesc file created by PIM-X), because all the necessary data will be in the LOT file. Although if you make a growable (RCI) lot like residental, commercial, industrial or agricultural growable lot, you must keep the created *.desc files, because only those contain the necessary building examplar in those cases.

So growable - model+lot+desc (except if you merge this desc file together with the lot file in reader of course)
Plopable - model+lot

If you make props, those will show up as *.desc files too, so when you make a prop of a building it worth to name it that way to avoid confusion and deleting it accidentaly.

(I'm in a bit of rush at this moment, so I can't provide images, but if you need further help, just let me know)

@Tyberius06 thanks much.  I’ve run into this issue before but caught it that time because Steam by default sets up a different PlugIns location.  So, this time I didn’t move the right one but my game still had access to the other so it worked and I didn’t notice.  Again thank you for the assistance!

@Kloudkicker thanks for bringing it up or I would have never known otherwise.  Will update and upload at the next opportunity.
