The Red Church  1.0

About This File

The Red Church is a landmark based on St. James Episcopal Church in Sonora, California, which was built during the gold rush.

Build Cost: $35,000

Monthly Cost: $75

Bulldoze: $100

Benefits: Unique for a landmark, the Red Church primarily boosts residential desirability across a wide area. There is also a smaller commercial benefit for nearby land. You should notice a couple of other fun little quirks as well.

Please rate if you download. Thanks!

Known Issues: Like most BAT buildings, the night lights may not show up until you toggle them on/off once. Also, in rare cases, the walking path may not show.

Very nice. Yet another new church. This one could fit very well in a rural setting, as well as an urban one!

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes, this an actual church, and in real life it is very red. I pulled the textures straight from a photo of the building. Here's a photo of the real thing, for the curious: http://malakoff.com/sonstjms.jpg

This is perfect! 1 question though: How did you get the textures from the picture? I try to get the textures from this picture: http://www.datacad.com/gallery/shows/paradigm/badfinal1.jpg but I cant. Is it because its not "looking"at me?

Is this the church that Robert Ripley went to? It looks like the one from the brochure about his personal life i got from one of his museums...

Nice job! I shall use this in my new CJ - Santa Rosa. It is very Nordic, just what I want. Also, the plop cost is reasonable (although if it wasn't, I'd soon change it!...lol) The ghosties frighten me though...

just like the one that i see in my dreams when the cult of Xes decides they want me a subject of their ritualistic experiments to have satyres inhabit the bodies of men to propagte with the wood nymphs who live in the forest behind the church.

Sweet! If this is based on a Californian church I'm guessing it's made from Sequoia wood. Very well done! d=)
