About This File

This is a commercial tower of my own design. It employs a maximum of 1455 sims. The Sky Museum offers a splendid view of any SimCity.

I received many suggestions and constructive criticisms from Simtropolis participants in the forums, especially on the textures and night lighting. I incorporated nearly every one of the suggestions into this final version. Raphaelninja's blank RCI lots made this working version possible.

Please let me know whether this lot works. (This is my first STEX upload). I tested it extensively in my own game. I hope you enjoy it!

Amazing building. Just one question... How did you do the sky museum? Is it just a texture? it looks a bit like a lattice.

The architecture style of the building is awesum. I agree there needs to be more lighting on glass windows that are now dark. And the amount of jobs provided should be higher as that building can hold more. For the design a 10 for realism 8. 9/10. You wold want to consider an update on this version.

It won't light up at night for me, even after several nights, do I need another plugin for it to work? (Like it alot otherwise)

Oh, and it gets a ten if the nightlighting is improved, but now it's a nine :-)

Great, but one bit of advice: on the night lighting make the all-glass area at the top light up. 9/10, but with an update on the night lighting, a definate 10. I also agree that a bulding that size should have more jobs.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. The night lights went through several iterations. I felt that lighting the glass detracted from lighting the "domed" areas. I used spots on it instead. I'll experiment more.

See many of the iterations in the BAT open discussion forum "Cobb Tower, 1st BAT attempt" The glass top was lit up at one time ;-) Comoneymaker: Thanks for pointing out this zoom problem. Possible that it's because it's a "prop." As a landmark, zoom 5 works. I'll investigate...

Morhavoc: the sky museum is made from toruses and cylinders, textured, then an extruded spline is stuck inside with an opague texture. I'm very glad people are liking the sky museum!

Note: This version 2 works at all zoom levels. If you already downloaded and just want to fix: use the plugin mgr. right click on the desc file, choose the advanced tab, change the "AppearanceZoomsFlag" property to "zoom 1,2,3,4,5." Sorry -- I'm a BATter, not a modder! :-)
