I'm only gonna judge by the pictures here, but it looks pretty, sorry, boring. There's extreme elevation changes at some points and then miles of absolutely flat terrain. The coastlines look unrealistic, flat and very brush-y, the borders between city tiles show very obviously. The map just lacks creativity. It misses rolling hills, constant terrain changes, interesting places, realistic transitions. A mountain doesn't just pop up out of nowhere, raise the terrain around it, blend it with the lower levels, make it real. I hope this helps.

it's only the beta. and the real Version 4.0 is undergoing. and the elevation and region size is not finish.

Things done correctly:

1. Created a map

2. Learned how to upload it on the Stex

Things that you need to work on:

1. Originality

2. Contours

3. Realism

4. Practicality

5. The Description

6. Pictures

7. Background Knowledge

8. Getting a picture without development

9. Etc.... Etc... Etc...

Long story short, you really need to take a look at your Map and critique it to some of the other maps here. Honestly, I don't think you should be uploading your first maps onto the Stex if they look like this. I've also seen that you've uploaded some other maps with the same name, please take care of that. If I were you, I would take this down immediately and take a look at what other people have created and possibly ask how they have done it. Good Luck.

BETA version? You're not making a video game here. Why do you need to upload this if it's not finished? We don't need you to post every step along the way. I'm not trying to be rude ormean or anything, it's just that this is just pointless.

please no negative comments in my Laguna Province Maps!

No negative comments? So you think everybody would thank you and congratulate you when you upload this on the stex? You seriously need to work more on what you make and you need to look at other people's work before uploading your own. This map is far from being perfect. You need to elaborate your descriptions and you need to accept criticism. You also need to release finished maps instead of betas.

I did not intend to be rude, I'm just trying to help you.

Suggestions... Calling something a 'Beta' and stating that it is 'not finished' will usually result in the type of comments received here. You might just want to give your works a version number (v1, v2, etc.) as updates are made. New maps are always welcome on the STEX, but it's usually not the place to 'test' your works. You might be better off asking for suggestions on works in progress by starting a topic in the Mapping Community Forum. Just a thought...

okay. this version is a preview only. but i uploaded it on STEX.

Okay, what are we supposed to be doing with this map? How are we to help you make this better?

Its terrible, poorly made, edges are visible, water is clearly made with the game brush enlarged, unrealistic elevation. I suggest you look at how some other maps are made on the stex, like maroonday said, people such as drunk apple. If you don't like negative comments, too bad, not everyone will agree with you on everything. People make mistakes, but it is one thing to ask how to fix it, ask for help, and another to repeat its a beta version and not want any "negative" comments.

Anyone who has played Simcity 4 (vanilla) could have created something like this with minimal effort. This sort of thing isn't outstanding in any way and it shouldn't be on the STEX, especially since it's a beta, and especially since it falls far below the standard quality of STEX uploads. I'll echo kLOBB: you're not creating a videogame. No-one is interested in your half-finished, sub-standard creations.

I download things that I think I could use in Simcity. Good buildings, interesting maps, etc. There is no chance that I'll find any use for this. Suggestions though:

Blur the lines between cities so the city boundaries aren't so immediately obvious, eliminate bodies of water that look like deformed genitals, place city centers at sensible points and then radiate the city and suburbs out from there, less is more - you have too many skyscrapers and to many city centers, spread things out more, raise terrain evenly over large distances...

and then upload to the STEX only when you're finished and only when you've created something that is above the informal quality bar that others have set here. no-one wants to download trash, and that's exactly what this is right now.

1: make a map. NOTE: you gonna make maps from SC4Mapper or SC4Terraformer. 2: take a photo of your created map. .and i'm gonna see if your created map is good.

Do you mean make a map using this one or just start one from scratch?

start from scratch. open with SC4Mapper or SC4Terraformer.

teaching new players by doing a small team city is a pretty neat idea actually (i don't frequent the forums much. has that been done?)

Um, you should take a look at some other maps to get hot it's made, then practice using there techniques in a empty plain region and learn how to create different land-forms and coastlines and whatnot. I tried that, and it takes a while, but it's a good skill to have. Once you feel ready to make a realistic map, take your time and make sure you did it right. It will be a better result.
