Do you know if this plaza may become a multifunctional lot? This one could become a part of a garden, or as the center of any old city, or as the part of the garden of a palace, at least there are 3 function of this lot. That means if this one is very useful and another nice addition for our community, thanks for sharing, boisemetro. :)

Hmmm, interesting texture use. IMO, you went slightly overboard, though. While the blue ornament textures can be integrated into SC4 quite nicely, the dark purple crosses are too much for my taste, and I don't think that both go together too well. That's a matter of taste, of course.

From a technical point of view there seems to be some problem with the dependencies. Downloaders will definitely need one of the BSC Mega texture packs (my guess is Vol.1, but I'm not 100% sure), which you didn't list. Without this dependency, the lot will lack most of its textures.

I cannot stress it often enough: If you think that your lot has only dependency XYZ, then make an empty plugins folder, copy nothing but your lot and its allegedly only dependency XYZ inside, and take a few measly seconds to load the game, plop the lot, and see if it actually works. Even better: Control the contents of your plugins folder before you even open the LE. Undocumented dependencies are not an unforeseeable blow of fate, they are the result of lacking control and test measures. Now I know that you've only just started making lots, and I'm not saying this to attack you. I only want to make you aware of problems that are actually not that hard to contain if you set up your work right, but can be hard to track down once they have slipped in. Trust me, it will make things easier both for your downloaders and for you. :)

What I don't see is any reason why you would need PEG's UT Small Plaza. Your lot doesn't seem to contain any prop that's not Maxis-made. Have you tried plopping your park without PEG'S UT Plaza Small plaza in your plugins folder?

All that being said (and asked), I hope you'll continue making lots. I enjoy using the LE myself, and I have published one or two things to the STEX and to other sites. It is still a very useful tool to make new content for the game (even if it's limited to "remixing" existing assets), and every contribution is welcome. :)

Actually, I like this, but i would like a bigger plaza. At least 4 x 4 to match up with the 4 x 4 lots for the big commercial buildings.

Thank you everyone for the comments. Thank you T Wrecks for the advice. It was a bit painstaking but worth it as the correct dependencies have since been determined. The page above has been updated.

Good job with the update!

As I said, if you control dependencies beforehand (starting at zero and adding what you need - and only what you need! - one by one), determining the dependencies is as easy as taking candy from children. Since textures are not mentioned in the LD file, you may need some extra discipline and a short test, but if you only have those texture packs that you absolutely need for the lot, this will be a snap as well.

I recently made a lot where I knew I used custom textures from one pack - but I wasn't sure which one. Since I only had three texture packs in my work plugins, I merely had to make a short test run with only pack 1, then with only pack 2. If the texture had still been missing after both runs, I would have known that it had to be in pack 3. It's really that easy. Work required: Harmless. Time required: 5 minutes tops.

You'll see - next time you do it, it will not be a painstaking task. Happy lotting! :)
