Shima and Ise-Shima National Park - Japan (File #29)
Shima is a city located in Mie Prefecture, on the island of Honshu, Japan. The city was formed on October 1, 2004, by the merger of all five towns (Ago, Daio, Hamajima, Isobe and the former town of Shima) from Shima District, which was dissolved by the merger. As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 56,758 .
This city has two bays, Matoya Bay and Ago Bay. Matoya Bay is famous for oyster cultivation and Ago Bay is famous for pearl cultivation. Both of them are sightseeing spots and Shima is in Ise-Shima National Park (source : Wikipedia).
