Radical RCI demand/graph mod  1.1

About This File

Most of you may have or not have remembered Radical One's super demand mod.

Well this one is more powerful and unlike the other one this one is compatible with the CAM.

In addition I have included a graph mod that will increase the RCI demand plus bar to 65,000 so now you can have/grow stage 15 CAM. Or stage 8 SimCity 4 or Rush Hour buildings exceeding 60,000 pretty easy if there is ever any that is.

It is very important to know that there are 2 files in the zip. The first file will max out all RCI demand types such as R$ R$$ R$$, CS$ CS$$ CS$$$ CO$$ CO$$$, I-AG I-ID I-IM I-IHT to 65,000 now just like the other one demand will always stay the same no mater what you do. Like let say you wanted to raise taxes to 20% to make a huge profit will demand will still be maxed out.

Be careful that file depends on the graph mod I made and will not work with out it. The 2nd file will increase the RCI demand range to 65,000 you may use that file any time you want or choose to use it. Like most demand mods the one in that first file is 100% radical tested no crash to desktops or bugs.

Just put the 2nd file or both files in your plugins folder and enjoy. :D:ohyes:

Released

CoriBoom Edit:

This mod has been updated to correct issues with the initial release.

Issues corrected:
-----------------

  • Duplicate property for CO$$$ corrected which caused that demand to max out at 6,000.
  • 12 copies of the EffectDir removed as they are not needed for functionality.
  • Removed the "Average Salary for Demographic" property since it's identical to the Maxis values.
  • Corrected the tick marks on the RCI graph to be logical increments of 10,000 and that gives a zero baseline as well.

USAGE
-----

Remove the following two files from your plugins if you have the original version installed:
  - demend maxer graph mod.dat
  - RCi graph mod.dat

Then add the two new files to your plugins:
  - Demand Maxer Graph Mod - v1.1.dat
  - RCI Graph Mod - v1.1.dat

I don't know why. But it made my land value and desirabilty crash. The whole city lost one million inhabitants in seconds and most of my commercial buildings were abandoned. I could annihilate the whole 3,6 million inhabitants city as land value did not recover even after uninstalling this mod. :(

There is nothing wrong with radical mods. SC4 is a game intended for entertainment which is inately subjective. If someone wants to use the disc as a $50 coaster, so be it! Furthermore, the contribution and influence of such mods to the overall success and popularity of the game is immeasurable. That said, ALL custom content is vulnerable to mistakes and oversights, including this one. The mod works as expected (with or without CAM) except for one small coding error. The glitch is apparent in-game via the expanded demand graph which reports demand by zone and wealth level. All of the bars display maximum values EXCEPT for CO$$$. Before discarding the mod altogether, I inspected it with SC4Datanode (available on this site) and discovered a duplicate property in place of another intended property. After correcting the mishap in ILive Reader (also available on this site), the mod worked as intended. I'm unclear of the official procedure to upload the repaired file, but I'm hoping the original developer will receive notification of this post.

Radical shit.

I removed this modd, then: All my cities never returned back to realistic RCI values. Thank God, I had a manual REGION BACKUP some weeks before. Nevertheless: Don't use this if you play with realistic values.

Why is this modd manipulating effects when just fixing demand at +0xFFFF? Seems to be a copy of Simcity_1.dat.

First DAT file contains 12 EFFDIR entries. One would have been enough.

Gefährliches Halbwissen. Nuf' said.

1 star for no warning anywhere at all.

Can you control the super demand or are all bars always going to be up because I don't want R$ and CS$

Good investigative work. Following your suggestion, I found and fixed the same duplicate.

As they haven't replied, CB and I have made the modification and 3 other tweaks the files needed. We've updated the STEX entry. The new version 1.1 is ready to use after removing the two original files from plugins.

True. And even one is more than needed. I checked and it was slightly different than the Maxis original whereby the Brightness Adjustments over time had been changed from 3 reps to 1 for the foam_splash. That has no affect on RCI demands so all EffectDirs have been removed in v1.1.

@gamzdude

As caretakers of Simtropolis, we have corrected the issues with your file. It is still your STEX entry so you will continue to receive any reputation points gained.

@Everyone Else

Yes, this is a pure cheat and some peeps like to use mods such as this. That's their prerogative so there's no need to comment on how it ruins the game. *;)
