After writing that I tried to get on Simcity once again and I can't play the normal version when I use the normal Simcity icon. I don't know how to safely delete all the Simmars stuff either.

It somehow merged with my Simcity file where it only played simmars.

10 years since Simcity 4 released - a million highways connected, a billion meteor showers, a trillion mods. Thank you, Mars Team, for showing lame developers(not pointing any fingers - EA!) what a FINISHED game is supposed to look like...and this is just the beta!!

 

Could you do me a favour while your up there and see what you can do with battlefield? Gimme a chicken launcher :)

i really want to try this one out, but my old disc-copy of Sim City does not run on my Win7 (at least i did not find he necessary ppatches to make it run), why some time ago i bought Sim City 4 Deluxe on Steam Sale. Which sadly does not run with Sim Mars. I copied Sim Mars (that had installed itself in the no longer existant folders from the CD-Installation, maybe Info from outdated registry Keys) into the appropriate steam SC4 Deluxe Folder. I later manually edited all registry keys that refer to the old Sim City path to refer to the Steam Path.

i won't get the CD Version of the game to run, but i'll be more than happy to help you set Sim Mars up for Steam, if i can.

I was just wondering how to uninstall this mod? it kinda took over my game, I couldn't access regular SIm City 4 So I had to try to get rid of it but unfortunately my maps still have the black starry Background underneath them when I access them? any help would be appreciated!

I have removed every folder related to Sim Mars from my Sim City 4 files but I still have the starry background when I am actually playing in my city. It really slowed down my game and made it borderline unplayable as it did the same thing others have reported and took over my entire Sim City game so I could ONLY access Sim Mars and not the original game.

So nowhere does it say it is not compatible with steam. Also there is no explanation as to how to get it to work with Simcity for legitimate owners of simcity. I was really looking forward to this, and would appreciate some troubleshooting or explanation as to how to get it to work for legitimate owners. if it doesnt work on steam MENTION IT, waste of time for steam owned simcity. wtf.

if i install simmars im going to lost my cities ??? or are going to change ???

Stupid mod

To all those complaining it doesn't work, perhaps the launcher application doesn't, but with a modicum of understanding of how SC4 mods work, that's really easy to work around.

Check out the solution in this post if you are lost. Of BTW, you know this isn't the place for support questions, right?

Wow, I remember when this was first announced. It was THE most downloaded mod on the site, I'm curious if others still play this mod or just play the OG SimCity 4 with other mods.
