You could already make underwater tunnels for cars (rails too, for that matter), but it's a stupidly inconvenient process (and can't cross city borders). The only trick with these, if the subway tubes from these tunnels cross another subway line, traffic can jump onto a different network. Nothing to be done about that unless EA releases the source code.

Great idea! These tunnels are useful, especially to cross city borders, but also for 90 degree "bended" tunnels. I like to use them in mountain areas but it doesn't work because of the steep slopes. Is there a way to increase the max. slope of the subway network (I use ilive's reader)? Also I see some of my sims get lost in the tunnel. I had 47 sims going in and only 23 coming out.

These would be useful, but the one I'm using isn't working for me: over 10,000 pedestrians are entering the lot and all are coming out as pedestrians on the other side, but only about 80 cars are entering the tunnel (there should be much more than that), and none of them are coming out on the other side. Can you suggest a reason for this? It's just a point-to-point subway tunnel; I don't have any intersections or anything that would mess it up.

Is there any way to use one of these models as a replacement for the regular AVE tunnels ? I'm not so keen on using subway tunnels, even though it's smart (unlike me ). But is there a way to use the tunnel models anyway, by placing it in some special folder or by renaming/recoding it ? That would be awesome, just like the models themselves

How do you make this work? I never get any traffic.
