Observatory  2

About This File

This is a small observatory that functions as a museum, teaching your sims the secrets of the cosmos. This lot looks great in mountain areas and on top of ridges or hills. It will plop flat on most slopes.

plop cost - $4000

bulldoze - $100

maintenence - $100

This is a 2x3 lot that has the same effects as a small museum with a larger radius.

As usual, there were dozens of types and textures to chose from, but this is the one that appealed to me. This is another in my ongoing series of small BAT buildings that are designed to bring realism to smaller towns and rural areas. I hope you enjoy!

UPDATE: I have heard the cries and have responded with two new versions of the observatory. Observatory2 is the same as the original, but the white and the dome has been toned down to look better in the game. Observatory3 is the same as the original but has a brushed metal siding and a light blue colored dome. It isn't reality, but it looks cool and isn't all white. None of the stats have been changed for now. Enjoy!

I think the white is much too bright. It contrasts a bit too much with it's surroundings. Albeit that, it's a great lot. I hop you make a v. 2.0 soon! :) 8/10

It looks like it would go well with the Cemetery pack from PEG. I think I will try it... Good Idea dude. Keep it up. You are up in the air with Victory, Peg, CSX and the likes...

Thanks everyone. The observatory does not light at night for obvious reasons, it's an observatory, plus there are no windows. There are non-white ones, but I wanted it to stand out on a mountain side.

really nice, gshmails... Although would it be possible for an updated version where the texture of the base cylinder is a little darker? But for in-game aesthetics, maybe toning down the base would be a good thing... 10, because it's not a big point...

I know all observatories are white... I just said it's too white, in contrast with the rest of the buildings in the game. Maybe it's that the dome is just a plain white, maybe a small texture would help. Something isn't clicking for me with this building... Nothing personal gshmails... :)

As long as the comments are about the lot and not me they are never taken personally. I will take a look at toning it down a little. The lot is designed for your enjoyment, so if you ask for it, I will always try to see what I can do to accomodate. Thanks for the comments, keep'em coming!

Introducing "SUPER-REFLECTO ROOFING"! (registered trademark*) Reflects all light it recieves! On a more serious note, yes, I do think that white's just a LITTLE bit bright if you know what I mean... ;-) The model's good, though. *Oh, and i'm j/k about the registered trademark bit...
