Hey everyone, I searched around and didn't see anyone else having this problem. The game had been working fine for me till yesterday when that free game download became available. When I click on the game to play it I get directed to the free game offer instead of the game. Heres the thing, when I close that window shouldn't the game launch? Instead nothing happens. I get that window and the game won't launch even after clikcing play a few times. Any ideas? Note I have already tried updating and repairing the installation, neither of which did anything. thanks in advance for any advise

We can get an idea as to how big the city's working space actually is from the most recent gameplay video. If you watch the sides/top of the screen you can see a white line appear while the roads are being layed down. It looks to me like the white line is a border telling you where the real border of the city is. The size is not what were used to but its big enough for me. You have to watch carefully but you can see it at 1:20 (on the left), 4:39 (top left hand corner behind gamespeed and newswire) and 5:14 (top right hand corner). I still want to know if frieght rail is available but overall everything else looks great and I can't wait to pick it up. EDIT: Just noticed theres another topic that talks about the border lines. There are pictures to illustrate the point too. Heres the link - https://community.simtropolis.com/topic/51457-some-gameplay-images-from-vid/

Player not in control of intercity transport network
stp243 replied to Vampirovibrio's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Been a long time since I have posted here, but I had to chime in on this thread. When it comes to predetermined road/rail connections I was at first very dissapointed with it. Now that I have had a little while to think it actually makes sense. A lot of towns and cities actually owe their very existance to pre-planned railroads and roads. Many towns and cities in the midwest and plains states got their start as stops on railroads. Railroads made America's push westward possible on a grand scale, maybe we could look at our regions in such a way. That may be just the way I need to rationalize the decision to have this, but I don't really hate the idea anymore. With that said I am still looking forward to this game, it won't be SC4 but I welcome a fresh start. -

No, its not necessary to have a freight station near your high tech industry, or any industry for that matter. As long as you have a neighbor connection nearby, your industry will survive. I always try to use rail for transporting freight in my cities to take trucks off the roads and lessen the congestion they cause.

simgoober i just downloaded the new fire houses you posted on the STEX and i gotta say they look great! i hope you make more, the original fire houses were getting extremely boring. Maybe if you make more you could make a custom fire engine sticking out of the garage or parked in front? just an idea.
