About This File
Geothermal power has finally come to your mountain/rural community. Virtually pollution free, this mid-sized power plant is a realistic power source and ideal for meeting the lower power needs of smaller, remote communities.
This power plant is modeled after the real-world Wineagle Geothermal Power Plant near Susanville, California. That plant went on-line in 1985 and has operated reliably at 98% capacity ever since then. Monitored by a computer, the plant is unmanned. The computer initiates a call to a technician if maintenance or repairs are required.
Priced at §2,000, with a monthly cost of §60 and an output of 1,000 MWh, this plant produces power at an affordable §.06 per kWh.
* Compare with the coal power plant at §10,000 / §250, 6,000 MWh and §.04 per kWh.
In-game power output values are skewed from reality, so this power plant's output & costs have been adjusted accordingly to compare with the default game power plants.
* To produce the 200 MWh of the game's single wind turbine power plant in the real world, a entire wind farm spread out over 20 kilometers would be required.
The lot is 2x4 tiles in size... and designed to have the appearance of an irregular, non-rectangular shape... which will be a new trend for MTP lots where applicable. The lot should be plopped on fairly level ground and looks great when situated on a prepared site amid rolling hills or along side winding mountain roads.
** This lot requires the following dependencies
PEG MTP SUPER PACK
PEG Security Fencing Kit
