BLaM Dublin Millenium Spire  1.0

About This File

The Spire of Dublin (also known as the Monument of Light) is a large, pin-like monument built in 2003,

120 metres (393 ft) in height. It is located on the site of the former

Nelson Pillar on O'Connell Street in the Irish capital, Dublin.

My version is 480 metre, as height

in SimCity 4 is multiplied 4 times.

Other names and nicknames:

    * The Spike

    * The Spire in the Mire (a reflection on O'Connell Street's unsavoury reputation)

    * The Stiletto in the Ghetto (O'Connell St is a very short distance from some of Dublin's poorest and most drug-ruined communities).

    * The Nail in the Pale

    * The Stiffy by the Liffey (a reference to Dublin's principal waterway, the River Liffey)

    * The Pin in the Bin (a reference to the perceived amount of litter in O'Connell Street)

    * The erection at the intersection

    * Pointless

    * The Stick

yeah I've been to that, looks really out of place in a place like Dublin though. Nice work there glenni!

I think the actual monument is way out of place in Dublin but, since this about about BATs, I'll give you a 9. :)

Yay! The first building from my home city on the STEX! :D Great job, particulary on the base with the new pedestrian surfaces on O'Connell Street. I think the Spire is a great landmark, and the newly rejuvenated O'Connell Street looks fantastic.

Great work, and you beat me to it, I was in fact working on one as my first BAT project lol. I don't like all the dependencies, though... Do I really have to sign up to another site to get that file for this to work in the game??

Well, not technically, i also uploaded one with only my prop pack required. i used all the dependancies/requirements for the other lot though, to get it as close to the real place as possible =)

OK Kewl, Thanks for replying Glenni :) And I did download it anyway and found that it worked as just the spire in a 1x1 square, which is awesome and has allowed me to place it among plazas to create my own effect. Congrats on a great BAT - one gripe - no light at the tip of the spire ;) but that's a personal thing for me heheh. Excellent work. I give you ten to make up for my so so rating earlier

YAWN!!! Just kidding! It's great but the original height would look much better(you know, as a realism thing). 8/10

Wonderful work, its fantastic to see an Irish landmark! I'm actually sitting here now looking at the real spire as well. LOL. Great work on the texture at the base of the spire, and on the pedestrian footpath below.
