About This File

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

UPDATE NOTE: 16bit Image processing is here!!!! PM me for .PNG file which was created from an original 16bit image (instead of the usual 8bit image). The detail is incredible!!!!!!

This is a scale map of the San Francisco Bay Area, including Oakland. This map is incredibly large, download at your own risk. This map shows the incredible size of a real world region. The map is 15x15 Large Cities in size and will take a fast computer about 50 minutes to render (2048MB RAM – High end processor, etc.). It will likely take an individual many years to develop this region.

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS:

Download Map, Render in SC4 using 1500m.dat plugin, or scale at 6.8412 in SC4Terraformer (0 for minimum terrain).

If you send me a PM, I can send you the SC4M file via email.

Using Ilive’s Reader, you can modify your Columbus Terrain Mod to import the image at 6.8412 (ß--best results!). I can send you a modified version of this plugin if you are having trouble.

1500m.dat is available here

https://www.simtropolis.com/STEX/index.cfm?id=16056

moganite has included a set of erosion plugins that produce amazing results. Experiment with these plugins first to decide which you will use. Like I mentioned before, PM me if you are having trouble!

Hopefully you enjoy the map.

The map looks awesome! It will take at least two hours to render it, if it will render at all. Since I love a challenge I think I will give it a try. Thank you creating and sharing this with the community.

So, I see you were busy while I was at work tonight. Very, very nice version of Frisco. This is by far the best bay area map I've seen yet. Hat's off to the one of the elite mappers of ST. 10/10

Wow I concur with blade, I always thought the region that came with SC wasn't quite right. 10/10. Its marginally smaller than my largestregion so it shouldn't be too much of a strain.

I'm afraid it won't be possible to draw Golden Gate. The border of the city would cross it. Anyway it's not your fault, this bridge is simply too long (more than 2 km) to put it even in the largest city.

Great map, and the fact that it's smaller than my version, even if it's still huge, makes it more plausible that people may be able to actually use it. :D

The grayscale map seems to be far too dark for me, I almost only get water in my region, the only islands that appear is where the peaks of the hills should be. Anyone else got this issue? Btw, Nice map!

hey whinerbroed, you can PM me your e-mail and I will send you a SC4M of the region. That way, you can render the map using SC4TF and have no issues!
