About This File

The model is a pair of link detached houses. Typically built in the mid 60s to late 70s, link detached houses generally provided 3-bedroom detached accomodation. The link between properties is at the garage.

Thanks go to barbyw for creating the lots and to geoffhaw who created custom textures for barby's lots.

Game info: There are two 2x2 lots - one of which is a corner lot with the houses aligned diagonally - and a 2x3 lot. Buildings are R$$ growable for 38 residents.

The straight and diagonal versions each have three subtle variants to add variety.

Man, that's grim-looking. You see stuff like that occasionally here in Los Angeles, but not too often. Good work, though. As said previously, we could always use more small residential BATs.

slightlyslack: what do you mean "grim looking"? Those are quite expensive houses in the UK. I was delighted to lot these for RP and can verify that they do grow.

Grim?! Plain and unadorned like most 60s and 70s housing, but grim? I'd hate to think what you'd make of some of the UKs council estates!! ;)

Grim? What a curious description. Well done RP2005 &co. Having lived in the UK for ages, I can say this is very realistic and is very unique in game!

Link-detached houses are expensive?! Man, I knew the UK was pricey relative to most of the US, but that's amost absurd. I say grim-looking because the spray-on-stucco-looking exteriors and dearth of side windows reminds me of infill duplexes that you see in grungier parts of Los Angeles. I suppose these could be quite nice in a different context--after all, some of the sketchiest parts of many American cities are full of exquisite Craftsman bungalows.

R$$ in UK, grim and grungy in LA, but the dream of most Dutch families. That puts the world in perspective ;-)

Excellent, they have loads of these type of housing in my town. These are not grim at all, typical British housing, ok they are a bit dull but they have everything you could ask for in a house. If you want grim you should see some tower blocks in big cities like London, Manchester, Sheffield etc. Also when people see rows of terraced housing, they call them grim but personally I like them, far better than tower blocks and council estates.
