About This File

Hi Folks,

here is my first map, LOFTON, i designed in photoshop to get close to the "Sharp as a razor Tutorial" by Rochefort. Here you can see how it looks to have razor shap coasts for embankment sets, etc.

To do so, just take a 1025x1025px file in photoshop, give straight black to all water area and #1e1e1e grey for the land that is just above water level.

enjoy

Good idea. In almost all other cases, I cannot use an embankment set or make a large shipping port. Simple, but useful. For an honest rating according to the small messages next to the numbers, i would give it a 7. Please first look at the little messages..

Did I miss something? When I rendered it, I only got water. Was I supposed to do something with the jpg first?

great map, gettin it now hey vab423 , do you have columbus terrain installed when rendering/. this can affect the render. also, sometimes the map is there, you just need to raise it, tile by tile.

Camros, no mods but I'll try raising the terrain in God mode. Thanks for the hint.

Thanks camros, raising the terrain in god mode did the trick. Glad it's made up mostly of large cities, tho. powl, this will be great for harbors and ports.

You have to slightly lighten up the color for land in photoshop. Use #1e1e1e hex value for your coastlines and your land should come off just fine above water level. powl

I do not have photo shop, I raised each city in god mode. It was tedious, but worth it. Will you make another on with water going through the whole map?

Its ok. I just wish there wasn't any post download stuff that needs to be done. You have to raise all the cities in god mode to bring them to their proper level. other than the tedious task of this, its a good map. Im using it noe to build a new mini CJ.

I am becoming more and more annoyed with simcity building on any slope and with the skyscraper houses because of their high foundations. I was looking for such a region for some days. Thank you.
