About This File

The Wal-Mart of the future? Highly unlikely! This big-box-in-a-blenderof a structure employs up to 30 sims. I originally intended this to bea brutalist wal-mart "mobile economic control palace" which takescommunities which don't want to willingly accept it BY FORCE. Forciblyimposing their low-low prices and yellow smiley faces of DOOM upon thehapless, yet completely willing suburbanites. Using their invisibleprice-cannon, they lay seige to the local business district onmainstreet. However, for the sake of making this a somewhat practicallot, I ended up turning it into yet another iconic American supercompany presented in deconstructivist architectural form. Enjoy.

BTW, the actual growable lot has parking lots not seen in the pictures here.

Details: 5x6 CS$ lot. VERY RARELY OCCURING (in my tests) up to 30 CS$ jobs.

BTW, In case it isn't abundantly clear, I'm not really very much a fanof wal-mart. But it does make an interesting subject matter fordeconstructivism.

You got an impressive style of making these deconstructivist/abstract BATs, really interesting creations, and a strong message agans NA flaws in the economic and social aspect.

Odainsaker, Vidioman, your way off about how many employees they have. Your WAY TO HIGH. I think you should be quite since you dont know what your talking about. As far as the bat this style isnt my type, but its interesting.

To bad your comments about a business you know nothing about gets in the way. The best thing about all this is Walmart is still the #1 retailer in the world. Learn a little something about a business that is so efficent at what it does.

Once again I don't view this as being exactly decon, but it certainly is something out of the ordinary. I enjoy how you mock the consumerist N.A. culture (I shouldn't be saying that, I love to shop.) I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Superstore maybe?

Ha! more deconstructivism! I would call it decon either because I actually like this (AHHHH!) Anyway I think maybe you should do some more similar but toned down Libeskind-esque stuff. Geat stuff

I actually undercounted. My local Wal-Mart Supercenter (with a grocery unit and specialty divisions), currently employs just under 450 persons (about 420 as hourly-wage). Retention rate in the 60% range. Yep, I served my purgatory in the Electronics Dept. hdorriker: Ricardo Legoretta would love it!

You forgot to include the marching troops and hidden missile silo's that this retailer is readying for it's total domniation of the world. This international menace has it's claws in the UK, Germany and many other countries in disguise (even Korea!). Think about it :o)

The jobs are way too low but the building itself is excellent. I like this deconstructivist take on boring American capitalism very much.

moviesoldier: the jobs are not way to high, a shop this big can employ around 2000 people if 24 hours.

Everyone hates walmart for doing what they do best, just like microsoft. They play the game to its fullest, there shouldn't be a penalty for that... I'll rate after I try it, looks promising though.
