About This File

The Wal-Mart of the future? Highly unlikely! This big-box-in-a-blenderof a structure employs up to 30 sims. I originally intended this to bea brutalist wal-mart "mobile economic control palace" which takescommunities which don't want to willingly accept it BY FORCE. Forciblyimposing their low-low prices and yellow smiley faces of DOOM upon thehapless, yet completely willing suburbanites. Using their invisibleprice-cannon, they lay seige to the local business district onmainstreet. However, for the sake of making this a somewhat practicallot, I ended up turning it into yet another iconic American supercompany presented in deconstructivist architectural form. Enjoy.

BTW, the actual growable lot has parking lots not seen in the pictures here.

Details: 5x6 CS$ lot. VERY RARELY OCCURING (in my tests) up to 30 CS$ jobs.

BTW, In case it isn't abundantly clear, I'm not really very much a fanof wal-mart. But it does make an interesting subject matter fordeconstructivism.

Fantastic piece of work, thanks for sharing. Being European, i'm not familiar with Wal Mart, but those invisible price cannons do sound ominously familiar.Love the description!! :-)

Eeeek, horrors! The True Big Brother of Retail. 30 jobs might be a little low, as the typical Wal-Mart supercenter employs several hundred. Sure, it is 300-400 extremely low-wage jobs with high turnover, but low prices gotta come from somewhere.

Simtime, I don't see any of your lots or BATs on the STEX. I don't think you should criticize him for making some original and out-of-the-ordinary lots. Its unique and I like it very much!

Hehe, as it is now, all WMs lay seige to the communities near it! Great job, and I'm loving these interesting concept buildings! Next, we'll probably be seeing a crackhouse deconstructivist Starbucks- the opiate of the masses! ;)

simtime139-- completely uncalled for. What's your problem? Don't comment if you don't have anything constructive. A great BAT, well designed and well-executed. I like the texturing, also.

Only 30 jobs?! Wal-Marts hire about 350 on average. I'm not going to DL because Im not really into this kind of building, but this is very well designed! @Simtime139: If you are going to comment, comment constructivly. You are acting like a child. I suppose you can do better?

If the effect of the BAT is the same than real life, I'll bulldoze it as soon as it appear in my cities! Otherwise, nice BAT and delicious metaphor. It looks like someone above is working there...

Excellent, but I agree that 30 jobs is quote low. It would be interesting(as zmveliger said), that once this shows up, all 1x1 C$ lots within 20 squares goes abandoned :) A script perhaps?
