About This File

Do you remember the good old SimCity 2000 era, where microwaves from space were used as sometimes hazardous, but reliable and clean power source in particular? Now, it has finally returned, the microwave power plant, which receives the beam from a satellite that collects the rays of the sun in earth's orbit. The capacity of this facility is equal to the hydrogen power plant, but the other values are the same as the ones from the solar power plant, which makes the microwave power plant an attractive power source, providing the sims with long-lasting, environment-friendly power. But be careful, when the beam misses the receiver, the next fire station shouldn't be too far away! Dependent on the selected difficulty level, the power plant will become available when certain requirements are met (look below for a list), i. e. you'll need the space port in "hard difficulty", since you'll also need a satellite in space that reflects the solar rays to earth first...

You can select the Power Plant version of this lot from the utilities - energy menu and plop it in your city. This BAT has the same statistics like the solar power plant, but far more output. It is a reward lot which has certain requirements, dependent on the difficulty level:

Easy difficulty: available right from the beginning Medium difficulty: 10,000 residents, 500 high-tech jobs Hard difficulty: 25,000 residents, 2,000 high-tech jobs, spaceport

Thisdownload comes with an EXE installer; Mac users can use FileJuicer to extract the files.

@meowda; Well wouldn't it be more constructive instead of just giving your opinion, to say what exactly is wrong with the textures? That way, he may be able to improve! Not that he does need any improvement in this case...

VERY cool! I don't know why I didn't download this when it came out. imo the plop cost should be higher and the monthly cost should be lower, but that's ok.

Excellent model!! I congratulate Stolloss, (s)he did an excellent job! Don't you want to use this model make somekind of research center, or just a big satelite uplink? It could bring demand for HT industries or other things..

This BAT is truly awesome, especially after realizing it is the very first BAT made by the Stolloss. The level of detail of the main dish's "foot" is fantastic. I surely hope Stolloss will find the time to create more of these awesome buildings. Thank you for sharing.

This is undoubtedly the best dish I have seen... However, it could be just as cool as a space observatory as well (education, military, or commercial). I will give only one thumb, because of this missed opportunity by the creator.

Awesome... I heard that Microwave power is possible, but anything flying over it (birds, planes, hanggliders) gets fried.

Yeah, i really missed this one from SimCity2000 and 3000! Excellent looking BAT, i could mistake it for one of those raido teliscope things. Anyway 10/10 for me!
