About This File

This is a map of Tokyo, Japan. It's scaled accurately. It's 44 by 36 km. Have fun!

Instructions: (VERY important note below)

If you don't have my plugins pack, download it here.

1) Place the 250m.dat plugin in your plugins folder, and remove any other height mod plugins... thanks to Andy80586 and lookinin for helping me create the mods.

2) Create a new folder called Tokyo in your ..My Documents/SimCity 4/Regions directory.

3) Download the config.bmp file and place it in the new folder

4) Download the Tokyo250.jpg file and remember where you downloaded it to.

5) Run your SimCity 4 game

6) Open the Tokyo Region

7) On your keyboard, press and hold down 'ctrl' + 'alt' + 'shift' + 'r'--this should bring up a dialogue box

8) Browse to the folder that you downloaded Tokyo250.jpg to, find "Tokyo250.jpg", and open this file.

9) This should start the rendering. BE PATIENT. This will likely take between 40 minutes and 2 hours.

10) Have fun!

In this area, there really isn't much in the way of elevation. So, yes, the elevation is pretty near accurate. And, have fun playing!

Isn't there one like this on the STEX already? Not to point out the one negative thing about this right away, but ... lol ^_^ Great job ... the best city on the face of the Earth!

My machine is telling me the bitmap is 2141x1473 and it should be 2177x1409. I have no idea how to handle this, any suggestions?

gregfry, you might just need to make your own config bitmap. The formula is pixels of map - 1 / 64 = pixels for config. As an example, 2177-1 = 2176, dividing that by 64 gets you 34. Then the long side of your config bitmap should be 34 pixels.

Actually, the map should be 2241 by 1473... so the bitmap should be 35 by 23 pixels... I checked it and it looks right to me... hmmmm

It's telling me region map is incorrect 2241x1473... should be 1025x1025, so what does that mean? Great map apart from this nuisance.

Something is obviously wrong with your region. It keeps on telling me the size is wrong. Could you PM me if you find the solution?

I checked it for a fourth time and it should work. When you download the map, is it 2241 x 1473 pixels? Is the config.bmp file 35 x 23? If not, something is going wrong while downloading. I PMed you.

Wow, this is an amazing and huge map! I've really got my work cut out for me on this one. Excellent job. To those who are having trouble with the resolution, just make sure the .cfg file is name config instead of config1. That'll mess a lot up. Also, I've done rendering in both the game and using the terraformer and I think the terraformer is much faster. I could be wrong though since I haven't messed around with everything this site and game has to offer.

Mallow....I receive an error message (should be 1025x1025) when loading the region map into SC4. Is there a fix? Or suggestion on what to do differently?

It says the region should be 1025x1025? why does it say this? I also changed the name of the bitmap in my documents from bitmap1 to bitmap just in case and that didnt work either.
