About This File

The plaza that never sleeps.

Media Plaza is a one-of-a-kind information hub that doubles as an entertainment venue. Here, Sims can get the latest headlines, stock quotes, and much more. When the next big story breaks, the plaza will become destination-one. Of course, at Media Plaza, all stories are big.

The distinct 4x4 plaza is surrounded by four massive walls of news and fun. Features include two jumbotrons, two screens (one for movies and silent films, and one for SCNN: SimCity News Network) whose size challenges IMAX, a giant bulletin board where the commercial district can advertise, food and drinks, wireless Net access, and Media Plaza's signature centerpiece sculpture.

All of these attractions, along with a hypnotic evening light show famous throughout SimNation, make Media Plaza a treat for both citizens and tourists.

seems poorly constructed, this lot could use some more detial like some buildings, you have alot of tables in the center but no coffee stand or cafe. And you should place alot of people in it to give it the "I wanna be on TV" look or "Whats Happening" very original though

I agree with joerg; you have too many tables but nothing to eat. Also, that boutiques-dictator guy scares me. Other than that, it's not bad.

There are food carts on each corner of the plaza, which I'm sure serve coffee. ;) People do inhabit the plaza, though; I changed the picture to show that. I would change the "dictator" picture (who I think is a newsman) but it's one of the few animated images available. :)

Sorry jbbry232; I was tired and I had just looked at a lot joerg made, and your names are similar... I don't think that the guy should be on that one screen 6 times. Maybe it owuld be better if you had him on there once, next to a billboard ad or something.

Hunter: That's a good point; I thought of that, which is why one of the walls contains only billboards, and the movie screen would show mostly silent films. :) The main point was to try and create an exciting, flashy atmosphere.

I like it. I've been wanting to build a tyrannical city for some time now and this lot reminds me quite a bit of Big Brother or Goldstein in "1984". Now my sims can have their proper "two minutes hate";-) Also, the guy on the screens looks eerily like the king of Jordan. Good lot.
