About This File

OK, I hope you all are ready for this, because the Highway Light Tower NOW WORK !!!!!!!

A big thanks goes to Smoncrie for allowing these lights to function as I originally intended them to.

Nothing about the specs of the lots have changed. They can still be found in the Landmarks menu, and all the features that were present in the old lots, are present in the new ones. Keep in mind, due to the way in which we got these lots to cast light, they need a power source. A simple power line coming from your main grid is more that enough.

There are six lots total.

5 Rural Versions of the Smaller Scale Light Tower

1 Rural Version of the Larger Scale Light Tower

The larger version is best suited for illuminating Elevated Cloverleafs (as seen in the picture) and the smaller versions are best suited for everything else. The in game names have been changed to help you identify the different versions, and there are brief in game descriptions of how the lot is set up and how to use them.

As with every STEX download, PLEASE READ THE READ ME. I didn't type it up for nothing. And for all the people who yelled at me for not putting any info in this description box about how the previous version didn't light up, well yall can just ............ nevermind.......they work now, so get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unzip the files and place them in your MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins folder

Please delete any of the old Highway Light Towers that you might have downloaded in the past, and replace them with these new versions.

You don't have to use all the lots, you can use any number combination of the six total lots. It is best to install them all, try them out, and which ones you don't want, you can take out after you have tried them out.

These lots will be updated very shortly, and in that update they will be made slope compatible, currently they are not. (Smoncrie gave me a slope compatible version, but I am having some trouble working with. So in the meantime I released these for yall to play with)

If there are any problems with these lots, please PM either myself or Smoncrie, or post a comment in my BAT projects thread.

I hope to see the nights light up in your City Journals.

Have fun, and remember, don't stay awake too long playing SC4 ;)

I glad to finally see these arrive on the STEX. I'll be looking forward to the slope conforming lots and the plaza versions. 10/10 -Swamper77

BTW, it seems that on some of the corner lots, the poles may be a little too close to the edge of the lot. I will look into this further, and fix it in the next update.

TGC - you up and done it now! Great job. This will really, really come in handy. I also will be looking forward to the slope-conforming version. BTW, what does Swamper77 mean about a "plaza version"? Great job again - 10/10

I think it could iluminate a larger area, because the higher tower iluminate just 2 tiles around it, so, to have a great ilumination, you have to build a large tower each 4 tiles.. It could be at least 8 tiles (4 tiles around large tower) so that we don

@ Ryan B - I have a plaza version for use along highways in dense urban areas. There is a texture that I have used in those lots, that I can't identify who the creator is. I don't want to upload those until I figure this out. Swamper is helping me to do that.

@ Xurros - I know what you mean, but in order to illuminate a larger area, the whole diameter of the light cone will need to be changed. This will cause development such as residential house, to be illuminated along with the highway, which is just silly.

I will talk to Smoncrie to see if we can figure out a solution to this. In the meantime the lots will have to be used as is. I don't think that this is a serious issue at this point, so I will focus on realeasing the rest of the towers, before we attempt to address this.

Very cool. :) Also for the next update, about needing power, would it possible/good to turn them into powerplants, cost=$0 & output=1 sort of thing? Also, re xurros, maybe two versions of the tall one - narrow and wide beams?
