I have discovered that SC4Pac loads the AutoSave plugin files in two different spots. This causes the "can not find settings error." If you put the dll file and the log file in the 150-mods file the error disappears and the instability this caused in Crast to Desktop incidents disappear. Can this be corrected? The ini file is loaded into the 150-mods file and the log and dll file are loaded into the plugins root directory/file. At least that is what has occured in my sytem.

SC4 Auto Save - a DLL plugin that saves a city at user-specified intervals
Null 45 posted a topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
A DLL Plugin for SimCity 4 that automatically saves a city at user-specified intervals. This auto-save plugin does not require any launcher and will work with any digital Windows version of the game, Steam, GOG, etc. The disc-based versions are not supported due to the fact that they are incompatible with Windows 10. If you use a 3rd-party launcher that has its own auto-save setting you will need to disable that option when installing this plugin. Download: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/35761-sc4autosave/ Source Code: https://github.com/0xC0000054/sc4-auto-save System Requirements Windows 10 or later Installation Close SimCity 4. Copy SC4AutoSave.dll and SC4AutoSave.ini into the Plugins folder in the SimCity 4 installation directory. Configure the auto-save settings, see the Configuring the plugin section. Configuring the plugin Open SC4AutoSave.ini in a text editor (e.g. Notepad). Note that depending on the permissions of your SimCity 4 installation directory you may need to start the text editor with administrator permissions to be able to save the file. Adjust the settings in the [AutoSave] section to your preferences. Save the file and start the game. Settings overview: IntervalInMinutes is the number of minutes that elapse between auto-save attempts, defaults to 15 minutes. Note that the save timing may not be exactly this value depending on what the game is doing. For example, auto-save is disabled when the game is paused. FastSave controls whether the game skips updating the region thumbnail when saving, defaults to true. With this option enabled the save operation is equivalent to the Ctrl + Alt + S keyboard shortcut, when disabled it is equivalent to the Ctrl + S keyboard shortcut. IgnoreTimePaused controls whether the time the game spends paused is ignored when counting towards the next auto-save point, defaults to true. LogSaveEvents controls whether the save events for the current session will be written to the log file, defaults to true. Troubleshooting The plugin should write a SC4AutoSave.log file in the same folder as the plugin. The log contains status information for the most recent run of the plugin. -
SC4 Launcher auto saving even though the feature is turned off
LakeRacer posted a topic in SC4 - Custom Content
I recently returned to SimCity 4 after a very long layoff. I just built a new system with Windows 10 (not a fan) so the game is freshly installed and so is SC4 Launcher. It seemed to be working fine initially, but while playing yesterday it saved out of the blue. So I quit and checked the Launcher setup and as you can see in the screenshot, the Auto Save is turned off, but it is still saving and logging the events (I set to 1 min so as not to wait long to see if it was working). Interestingly, the checkbox and words "Enable auto saving" are bold even though the box isn't checked. I'm not sure but it seems to me it was gray under Win7. Since the I first noticed the problem I've launched the game maybe 25 times and only once did the auto saves NOT happen. I've tried to uninstall the Launcher by right-clicking and choosing uninstall but it's not in the list of Programs. An over the top install didn't cure the problem. I suppose I could set the auto save interval to the max (120 min) but then I'd have to set a timer to remind me because I sometimes play that long and exit without saving because I'm not satisfied with what I've done. I just don't want it saving my mistakes. Anyway, has anyone else had a similar issue? Anyone have a way to get the launcher to function as it should? Thanks to all, Lake -
Where do auto saves, save? My city has vanished :(
poshbakerloo posted a topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Where do auto saves, save? My city has vanished I've not put this in the technical help forum, because I'm not sure its anything broken - but just how the game works. Cities Skylines (just like GTA V) seems to have a rather unclear auto save system. Everything was fine with my city, I would use the 'continue game' button on the main menu to get back to it. Then one day I decided to start a new city... got bored of it... so tried to go back to my old city... OMG WHERE HAS IT GONE. All I can see are a load of really old saves from when I first started Anyone else had this problem? -
SInce few days i have a bug that cause the overwrite / autosave of savegame files to output a error. If i save a new fresh named new savegame there is no bug. Any idea how to fix this because i like the autosave option to be eneabled again.

Version 1.1.0.20 BETA
3,994 Downloads
Sorry if the frequent updates annoy you people. Now I actually have some time to work on this project again The SimCity 4 Buddy application aims to make life a little easier for SimCity 4 players out there. NOTE THAT THIS IS A BETA RELEASE Do NOT expect a fully functional tool with zero bugs. I have tried to break the program in every way I could imagine to see if it broke, but I may have overlooked something. * * * Now that that is out of the way, what does this program do? Features It has multiple purposes. This early version has the following features: Manage your user folders through a friendly user interface without having to mess around with folders and files manually. Let SimCity 4 Buddy install the plugins for you (dat, rar or zip files. Multi-volume rar archives (zzz.part1.rar, zzz.part2.rar) Launch the game with a specific user folder (i.e. a Paris region, SimMars, MTP, Futuristic etc.) Handle launcher command line switches through a user interface (stuff like no intro, no audio, 1 cpu, resolution, window mode etc.) Let SimCity 4 Buddy save your game at regular intervals Let SimCity 4 Buddy identify your plugins against the central database so you can easily manage your plugins onwards - Don't worry if all of your plugins aren't identified. The database is being constantly updated. Let SimCity 4 Buddy check if you are missing any dependencies (for plugins known to the central database) Check out the support thread below to see what features are to be implemented in the future (the dependencies stuff is quite nifty if I may say so myself) Guides, support, bugs and feedback: https://community.simtropolis.com/topic/58814-the-SimCity-4-buddy-project/ Source code: https://github.com/IrradiatedGames/SimCity-4-Buddy-Project Server source code: https://github.com/asser-dk/SimCity-4-Buddy-Api- 40 Comments
