Another Place vs Place topic...of the two "big" cities that make up the west coast, Los Angeles and San Francisco. (If you disagree with this fact don't be angry, i'm only an innocent Brit!) I don't think I need to tell you which is which... For me, I would prefer Los Angeles. I like the west coast, and I think Los Angeles has more variety, with it's unique districts and I prefer it's skyline. Well, what about you? Which city is better? (Or worse!?)

Hasn't been much talk about skyscrapers recently, so here's a poll. We have city vs. city, so why not buildings? The two skyscrapers, probably the "Big 2" supertalls in the USA, are currently under construction...in the "Big 2" cities of the USA (maybe). You probably know a lot about them by now anyway. So which one do you prefer? I would choose the Freedom Tower. I don't really have a specific reason why in terms of architecture, but it just appeals to me more.

Off the top of my head: - Most American teen films. - Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Too many characters, and dragged on for too long. - Indiana Jones 4. Awful ending. - Most Harry Potter films (especially 5). - War of the Worlds. Not much of a story, and suddenly ends with things back to normal. - Spoof films (Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans, etc) - Spiceworld. 'Nuff said. Feeling rather grumpy today!

Have some more contenders: A shopping centre (behind the church). I always mistook the buildings below as being under construction... A rail station. Looks like a car park from the air. Destroy it now.

Right now, it's none other than the boys from my home city - Oasis. Cannot think of any other band - since they came along - that have achieved the same success. And i'm going to their supergig here at the end of their world tour! After that, here's the rest of my top music acts. It's mostly British music that does it for me - the very best. Blimey, that's madness! Is there really any point to this, seeing as it is World Of Warcraft? I wouldn't shell out that much even for a load of GTAIV's. I wonder what happens when one of them crashes... Anyway, I think it's best to round up a few certain kids from South Park to take down this guy.

My pick on a favourite building in Manchester changes quite frequently. It used to be this: Now i'm drawn to the Civil Justice Centre. Nominated for the 2008 Stirling Prize! -

Looking foward to this, straight after Top Gear on BBC2. Nice. The first episode is to feature Manchester so i've heard.

Hong Kong. It's the mountain backdrop that does it - magnificent.

...utter, utter insanity. That has to be rarer than a terrorist attack...maybe the first time something like this happened, I think? Totally out of the blue.

"Dangerous teen trend"? Goths and emos are in their own little world. Russia is a funny country... But this may be good news for the UK. The government could introduce a new law using this as a model. A law to ban all chavs. Oh, we can only dream!

Ooh, I like this, i'm a keen traveller. Been to quite a few locations, so I annoyingly had to spread them across three pictures. I have always flew in a plane abroad, never anything else. Places i've been to in Europe... ...the Middle Eastern area... ...and across to Hong Kong and Tokyo. The notable thing about this is that all my travels initially start from Manchester Airport. Never been to Heathrow, thank goodness. The best places I have been to is St Petersburg and Tokyo. Originally posted by: psander5 Especially the city of Tampere. You should all go there!quote> Yes, been there and I loved it! Known as "The Manchester of Finland".

I'd go with Nvidia. Been a year and still works like a charm.

My guess would be the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Botswana.

I'm not much of a concert goer as of now, but I been to quite a lot a while back. I tend to favour indoor concerts over outdoor ones, as the MEN Arena attracts the very best artists (along with the 02 Arena in London). Never been to concerts like Glastonbury, i'd rather eat my own hair than listen to James Blunt, Amy Winehouse and Jay-Z in one day. Music artists i've seen from the top of my head: Oasis Ian Brown Happy Mondays Arctic Monkeys Foo Fighters James The Verve The Strokes Inspiral Carpets Take That (I was forced to go to their homecoming gig...) Morrissey Franz Ferdinand The Bravery Primal Scream The Wombats Stereophonics

Spain thrashes Russia 3-0...Germany and Spain in the final now, as I predicted. Can't wait! Still had sympathy for Russia though, a Germany v Russia game would be fantastic.

Holland 1-3 Russia...a third underdog goes through! The words "This year's FA Cup" springs to mind... I see Russia facing Spain in the semi's, and possibly a final consisting of Germany and Spain. So i'm now rooting for Spain. Go Spain!

2008 Best Places To Live In the World
kawan replied to masochist's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Not really surprised at all, similar to last year. It's usually cities in Canada, Central Europe and Oceania that make the top, and I can see why. They seem very peaceful, safe and healthy.
