  1. THANKS! The one I'm having the most fun with is the basic 2-way version, super useful. The red reminds me of bike paths in Copenhagen.
  2. Functional Highway Works

Awesome. Fun to do, I've only done smaller scale nothing as detailed as that. My new prop might be useful somewhere in there: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=874006936
  3. Love the mod, having a blast with it! Besides having a slightly different color for the bus lanes, Curious what's the difference between these two types of bus lanes (attached image) The one on the left is "[BETA] Large Road With Bus Lanes" and the one on the right is "Six-lane Road with Bus Lanes"
  4. As a beginning modeller I use these along with a copy of PhotoShop Elements to adjust textures: Autodesk 3ds Max: free to students and those serving as mentors to school kids or university students in their design competition. Autodesk Fusion 360 free for 1 year and forever to "startups" that make less than 100,000.00 USD per annum. Workflow: draft the model in Fusion 360, export as an OBJ file with a fairly hig-tri mesh to 3ds Max, apply a basic transformation to reduce tris to whatever level works, UV unrap with 3ds Max intuitive interface, it's a cinch, export FBX for Cities:Skylines. Tried blender, spent a lot of time stuck *personally* found 3ds Max easier to use with a more straightforward interface.
  5. Ok thanks; I'm getting back into this as soon as I can.
  6. Note of the links in this thread work
  7. New to modelling working on my 1st Cities:Skylines model. Can't you use normal maps to make 3d windows without adding any tris?
  8. Cannot find avenue toll booth

Yeah that could have been it. I'm getting used to bulldozing things when something refuses to "plop".
  9. Monorail and HSR

In case someone stumbles across this thread in a search (like I did), I've noticed NAM now comes with HSR (I'm on NAM 34)
  10. Nice way to get around the fact that rail (even the underground version) takes up surface real estate. Only thing I'd add to this is the speed advantage. Rail = 140, Subway = 105 for passenger traffic (NAM 34) I GLR to underground rail in a city to speed up the commute. Over the short stretches involved, it's no problem to use the below-road variety. OP, keep in mind there are transition costs from one network to another so you might want to look at that before you go switching back and forth between subway and rail every block or whatever.
  11. Oh I see. So it's like RWM have no sidewalks?
  12. Cannot find avenue toll booth

That worked I was sure it didn't before but all good now thanks!
  13. I thought I'd post an update here to keep the info all in one place. I'm running NAM 34 on a Mac and here are my network speeds when using NetworkAddonMod_Traffic_Plugin_Z_Medium_Custom.dat, read from the .dat file as estevesbk suggested: Driving speeds (for cars or passenger trains unless otherwise noted) Street 30 (25 bus) Road & Avenue, 50 (bus 45) One-ways 75 (65 bus) Highway, RHW 150 (110 bus) Rail 140 (105 freight) Subway 105 Elevated Rail 115 Monorail 225 The only surprise for me here was that pedestrian speeds were 15 with the exception of RHW (dirt road), which was 10. I assume that it ought to be 15, so I changed it for myself.
  14. simcity4 NAM 34 Now Available

Got it installed, thanks. I followed your advice from your blog to install CAMeLots, thanks for providing a list. - Will
