  4. Actually in a very large city (unless you are using rediius doublers or those) the school, college, hospital etc. radius don't reach the very corners of the city... I think those guys keep on working on I-D... Need to confirm with the query tool though. so in this way even a city with proper schools colleges etc can have both I-D and I-M and I-HT.
  5. I think I am totally wrong!

I am already doing what most of you said... OK I will post pictures now.
  6. I think I am totally wrong!

demand cap... nope... I built 3 parks, 1 plaza, 1 tannis court, 1 basketball court, 1 squash court, but nothing... I played for 20 sim years ... is it too early to cry for a high population? but how will pop increase if it keeps on dancing?
  7. I think I am totally wrong!

shortage of jobs... nope... I keep a balance of job and population by watching the RCI index. also I never got commercial high rises... only those 4 storey bful buildings with a water sprinkler.. lol what you call it... yes fountain...
  8. I think I am totally wrong!

I have industry doubler... I just created two-three 5*5 I-D area because I think that in any realistic city even those of dev. countries have atleast 2-3 such industries... Also there is heavy green border around that ID area. Yes in the past I do created regions but not of much help... population growth remained stagnant. and high-rise ... nope not a single one.

  14. region Diamond Valley Region Map

    Version 2.0

    826 Downloads

Update: Ver 2.0 is out. Total redesign of the config.bmp file has been done in Ver 2.0. Hello Mayors So this is my 1st upload... A region map of a fictitious region called Diamond Valley. 1st of all I am so sorry as the preview image looks a bit odd.. That's the best I can do as I took multiple screenshots & then merged them together. This is a elegant region map which is land-locked in the Northern sides and then water bodies starts from the North-western area and North-eastern area with full water bodies in its South. Initially I planned to have high mountains in the North but then I decided that if I or you want mountains then we can use the terra-forming tools to achieve that. Files included (in .zip format) config.bmp regions.bmp (grayscale) Please rate it if you like it and if you have any suggestions or both +ve/-ve criticism then do let me know that as well. If you need any help then also leave your comments here. Thank you Update: OK updated another preview image after removing those 3 ugly blocks... This screenshot is also not perfect but I hope you will understand that Basic Tutorial to upload & render a region map downloaded from STEX 1. Go to your region folder and create a folder called Diamond Valley. 2. Place the config.bmp and regions.bmp files in that folder. 3. Start or restart SC4. 4. Create a new region called Diamond Valley. A new region will be created. 5. Now load another default region like Fairview or Timbuktu. 6. Now again load my region Diamond Valley. 7. Now press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+R and from the Windows browser that pops up select the regions.bmp by going through the correct paths. 8. After you have selected regions.bmp, click OK. 9. The rendering will start. I again repeat that if anybody is facing any problem then do let me know.

  16. MCP Small Shopping Center

I love it as a prop.
  17. Hello, OK in the very beginning of the post I would like to apologize if I offend anyone... This is just my personal suggestion. Regarding dependencies can't we do one thing... option1: The developers in their read me file or plugin description mention that to make the following Mod, codes or help from these these (dependencies) files have been taken and then make 1 single Mod file to download for us. In this way we players specially newbies have to download only 1 file and the link to dependency files also makes it sure that their copyright is maintained. option2: Or interested mod programmers or developers can use the creative commons license to allow their work to be modified and used on other mods by other developers. Those are just my personal opinions so I am sorry if I am wrong... But today I spent a hour to download the main file and its 12 dependencies and then getting biggy biggy brown boxies Anyway thank you -- Newbie
  18. Hi, So there are 2 plugin folders... C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\ and C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Plugins\ So which folder do you use? Currently I am using both but shall I take all files from C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Plugins\ to C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\ ******************** Also how to organize so much addons and their dependencies?
  19. Files/Folders Management question

Actually... what I was thinking that say I downloaded 1 main Mod. Now say that mod has 12 dependencies... So I wanted to keep track of that... those 12 dependencies are for this main mod ...

  23. Hello, OK.. so now after I learned how to make custom region maps... I also want to learn how to make custom buildings... I searched Google and Simtropolis but didn't got much help. 1) So can you tell me how to make custom buildings? 2) How can I add properties to those buildings like this building will increase commerce by +5 and that building will reduce garbage by -5? 3) What are the differences between 3D models, .BAT's, lots, maps and props. Please clarify a bit.. They all mean same to me. Thank you
  24. Dictatorship in Sim city 4!

    Thank you Andrew
  25. Hello, Just right now I learnt how to make custom regions. I didn't used any SC4 tool to make this.. I completely did the grayscale map and config file using Photoshop. So this is my First Custom Region .. What do you think about it? Is it nice enough or just a hanky panky gibberish out of the world alien homeland? Thank you Personally, myself I am not too much happy with it. The highlands in the North looks ugly... Any suggestion or tips for making good realistic looking regions?
